Soo choosing where im going to college next year its basically come down to these two...

Im going in as a mechanical engineering major, and i realize the campus locations are exact opposites..

so any thoughts/comments on the two?

North eastern is better. Uconn is reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaly good at basketball.

you decide from the given stats

uconns tight, a ton of kids from my high school went there. not much skiing to be done around there though. ski sundown is the best that close by unless you wana go up to snow or loon.

well if you are in state uconn is a hell of alot cheaper but with northeastern you get to do co ops which is great for getting a real job after you graduate. both schools are at the top of my list.

go to Northeastern. I used to go there and as far as locations go, Boston has a lot more to offer and is a really great city. I just generally dislike the state of CT. I don't really know anything about UConn. Plus, as mentioned, the co-op program can really get you set up with a nice paid internship and possibly a job lined up right out of or even before you graduate if you are with it. In a way I kind of wish I had stayed there for school.

UConn! But seriously, if you want a city, I'd pick Northeastern. At UConn you have to be the type of person that's cool with being in the woods in the middle of nowhere (which I love), but if that's not your thing this school isn't for you.
But that being said I love it here and am having a blast. You'll get a good education at UConn, our engineering program is particularly good and 98% of our engineering majors get a job within a year of graduating. It's also the number one public school in New England. But Northeastern is a better school education wise.

i'm going to uconn next year! so my answer is obvious. but really yes n.e. is an excellent school but uconn is definitely up and coming. ever year it gets harder and harder to get in to.
personally i wanted the traditional college experience and wasn't entirely sure what i wanted to do when i applied so the whole co-op thing didn't really appeal to me. also uconn is wayyyy cheaper.
job placement is high after grad., everyone is cool and there is just about as much skiing at northeastern as there is at uconn. plus uconn has a pretty good ski club that does regular trips if i'm not mistaken. anddd idk if it matters to you but uconn has awesome parties. so good luck with your choice!

Northeastern. You are pretty much guaranteed a respectable job after taking part in co-op. I have a few friends who graduated and were making 80k+ right out of school.

uconn is pretty tight and ive made the best of it in my five years here but if i had the opportunity i wouldve gone to northeastern. i visited some friends there and the campus is really nice and living in the city is sick. only thing is, youll save a shitload of money at uconn, in the sense that tuitions cheap and city living is super expensive. you can go to the bar with 20 bucks at uconn and still get hammered, thatll get you maybe three drinks in the city. also, if you move off campus, a city apartment will be much more expensive than one around here.

skiing wise, it takes me two hours to get to mount snow, and living in boston you can shred loon/waterville/sunday river etc.

hope that helps
