You have made it very clear to everyone that you are more tech-savvy than anyone else in this thread, and that your opinion is more valid than ours, so I think 1337 haXXor is an appropriate title.
 
Actually, Kyle had good things to debate. I come from the side that sees functionality as > than usability, sorry, and the fact that all we get from others is "leet haxxor" and shows just how fucking keen on your own stupidity you really are.

Ubuntu is also pretty damn functional even though anyone can pick it up and use it. Crazy right???

Also, how would you know what functional is? You've never used a goddamn functional computer in your lifetime.

The reason I like Ubuntu is that I can pop in a CD and 20 minutes of installing and about 5 minutes of Apt. I can have a computer that runs perfectly.

I've tried things like Arch (and ran it for about a summer since I didnt have school), and a couple other do it your self type distros, and their just too time consuming. (But they are a lot of fun to put together. And are good for learning whats actually going on under there.) Seriously, Arch is fun, if you like Linux try it.

On my netbook I have Fedora 14 since it's a little less space consuming then Ubuntu, and my laptop I'm running Fedora 15 for some Gnome 3 awesomeness.

Arch looks sexy as hell I definitely want for my new desktop. I'm still a debian fan tho. It's just... right.
Also CentOS is a better Ubuntu, Gentoo takes too long, and I've never touched Red Hat before.
 
Arch is awesome, try it. When I used it, I made it crazy light with OpenBox as my WM.

And yes, CentOs is far better then Ubuntu Server, I tried Ubuntu Server and about 1/4 of the packages were either wired versions that had something broken or just broken. Everything is a bit older on CentOS, but for the extra stability, its worth it.

No need to try RedHat though, Cent Os is just Red Hat with out the support and branding.

Triple booting on my macbook :P. Yeah, Linux's is better, but OSX and Windows are more functional because more people use them, so there's just more apps. Also, some people are intimidated by any code whatsoever, so there's that.

I'm looking to dualboot a Linux distro on my laptop with Windows 7. I've never used Linux before so I need something that's fairly intuitive and user friendly. Right now I'm looking at Mint, Ubuntu and Fedora. Any suggestions? Keep in mind I want something that's relatively easy to get up and running, I don't need to be confused from the start, I'll fuck with some other distros once I'm comfortable.
