there are 2 first year residences vanier and totem....i think they each have around 2,000 peeps in them but i got no idea, totem is way shittier and dirty, has way more parties and stuff. sweet place. Vanier has better food and i think hotter girls, but its probally even, much more civil and lame.     After 1st year there is gage towers, marine drive (20+), ritz, and fairview....gage towers looks liek a prision and has 6 people per aparment but is a sweet social party place. Marine dirve costs a ass load, and is brand new...has older people and no parties...fairview is dirty and anti social....with very thin walls....ritz is filled with koreans.    Go to totem is you want party more and vanier if you care about eating good food. 
 
or you could just move to kits and smoke/grow mad dope in your own place

grow-op finance is where the real money is

ps, i think schools should offer a finance/statistics/econ course related to poker. i think it would be really fascinating actually. it would be alot of binomial options pricing, varying discount factors depending or your risk aversion and game stage, and would involve some handy game theory to boot (can you say oligopoly?)
 
totem is getting a new caf, they started renovating the commons block a month ago or so. it's gonna be dope. vanier = ultra lame, don't go there. vanier's houses are empty and silent all the time, even on friday and saturday nights. totem's where it's at for sure, especially with the new caf that's coming.
 
well I finally got accepted. So yeah, I'm looking for an apartment. If anyone needs a roomate, talk to me. I'm nice. And clean.
 
if your 20 + you can come live with me in Marine drive for 650 a month, i'm on the 16th floor with a  killer view.  All i want is clean roomates, who are still relatively normal people.    hopefully also know how to have a good time too....
 
just thought id let you guys know that im taking the plunge and going to ubc, im gonna be in totem next year, so if anyone is doing the same, holler at me
 
i'm in totem again, i just found out yesterday. gotta be careful with living in totem... it doesn't exactly have an atmosphere that promotes working, trust me haha. post back on here when you find out what house you're in.
 
you'll have a ton of fun, guaranteed. totem is way more lenient about quiet hours/drinking games/sports in the hallways/etc than vanier is.
