uhhh.... talking about ubc and not mentioning the asians is like talking about whistler and not mentioning the snow... it's really not meant to be racist, so much as an observation...
 
Man that kid is quick. Saying that UBC is full of asians is pretty racist... all the stereotypes and generalizations in that comment just blow me away. If he said all the asians with their razr cell phones, their bmws/mercedes, their overtaking of science... those would be racist comments.. but J.D. didn't say that. While all of those things are stereotypes, they're also characteristic of UBC. No one said there is anything wrong with those characteristics, they just exist. Please think before you write. Thank you for your time.
 
I'm sorry...is that supposed to be some kind of retort? You only make yourself sound like an idiot. I was giving your friend some advice by telling him not to make derrogatory comments on minority groups because its just plain ignorant. I also highly doubt he's read more books than me.
 
I love how all you snowmen try to explain what racism is when you have never experienced it first hand its actually quite amusing.
 
how is what jd said derrogatory or racist in any way? if he called them slant eyes or chinks i would see your point, but he didnt so chill out jesse jackson.

I'm sure you're having trouble seeing past the blinders, but you're not as great as you apparently think you are. No one is impressed.

Anyone have a use for a socially maladjusted asian kid who becomes defensive on behalf of his (rather questionable) minority status and wards off insecurity and self-esteem issues by maintaining a dignified front and mouthing off about how many books he's read? Me neither...

A- there was no derogatory comment.

B- you're an idiot.

C- if you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem, and believe me, you're not part of the fucking solution. Instead of coming on here and bitching people out for their supposed racism, try not being a jackass. You'll find you get more respect that way. With respect comes understanding. And with understanding comes the beginning of the end of the "racism problem", which actually does exist, though certainly not in this thread.

D- your bitching about racism when it isn't actually happening only brings about more fucked up relations and more issues. It hurts the anti-racism cause and makes you look ignorant. Good job!

E- you don't know the definition of racism, so try finding a few dictionaries, some encyclopedias, and then some first-person narratives that describe the effects of racism in vivid detail, and get back to us on that.

F- if you were to study the demographics at UBC, or any other institution of higher learning in the lower mainland, you'd find a very high number of asian students, which is all JD was pointing out.

G- I don't like you, based simply on the fact that your only posts on this website have been some bitching about some supposed racism, with no basis in fact. So do me, as well as everyone else, a favour, and FUCK OFF.
