I just got accepted to the university of Utah and i'll probably end up going there next fall but the sad thing is, I dont know anything about the place. I was out at park city last february and it was sweet and all but i never left the hill basically. Can some people, that go there or know it real well tell me some things about it.

on a scale of 1-10 answer these questions...

1)size(people)

2)size(area)

3)ski hill access

4)party capabilities

5)dorms

and then any other things u think i should know. Any help would be great, thanks guys

size: mid 20,000's

location: right off 80 in SLC..pretty much perfectly located in salt lake

skiing: couldnt be better...alta snowbird pc and canyons are all within 20 mins

party: its mormon country but you can git'r'dun

dorms: nicest in the country..they were built for the olympics, and they are epic...so many living options...overall utah is the shit and im glad im moving there this winter and going to the u next fall..ill see you there homes

yeah, the main thing that i was worried about was the party situation. I have friends up at michigan state this year, and i go there almost every weekend and they can definetely party up there but they have like 40,000 something kids and they're not in mormon land.

you should be advised to avoid any contact with the mormons. even a simple smile or hello in the morning can be drastic. don't make eye contact with them at all. if they attempt to speak to you, don't say anything, and don't touch them under any circumstances.

mormons arent that bad, i mean there still nice people, and then just go get fucked up with our kind at night, it might not seem like it when you first get here, but we do exist, and we do get really fucked up.

what i need is a ns member thats going there this year and can point out the parties for me next year. It usually takes a couple of days to find the good places but my friends(at msu) knew a couple kids there already and were at one of the best parties they've been to their first night in. I want to waste no time in getting fucked up when i get there.

Realistically, resorts are more like 30-45 min, but that's still real close. Worrying too much about how much partying you're going to be doing is like the worst thing you can do.

go to another school, christ u of u already has enough of you kids coming here every year. Try boulder if you want to party. Bitches.

u need a gpa of like a 2.8 or 2.9 and i with the old SATS a score of like 1000 something or close to that i belieive

I'm only a sophmore but i'm still thinkin about the colleges i wanna go to. for my soccer tournament i went to in florida we had to put together profiles and like what schools we wanted to go to, cause there were gunna be a lot of college scouts and i put down U of U and my mom saw that and she was like noooo. whats funny tho is my mom use to be mormon. she grew up mormon but didn't really belive in that shit

ill mostlikely be there next year as well fools, except gen and i will most likely have our own house, and one badass dog too

hey, fuck u, im not fat. The main reason i ask about the partying is because im gonna apply to msu and i know that they can definetely party up there. So my choice is between awesome skiing, and partying, but if u woulda told me that u of u parties with the best of em, then it'd be a definete yes for u of u. Party + skiing in one university.

It all comes down to what you are passonate about. sure you can party (slc) and meet cool people, but it is nothing like the culture of say a big ten school. but the sking is unreal... last winter was my first here. I worked as a liftie for pennies and a ski pass and loved every second of it. I have been in both worlds and looking back I would trade a few years of partying for a few more winters out here, but thats just me.

Word, I've went to straight up party school were I would goto keg parties 5 days a week, Looking back, I didn't accomplish much. I have more fun skiing 5 days a week I think than partying 5 days a week

i know im gonna be skiing alot, but basically i just want to know if its even possible to get to just like 1 party a week, even if its small. Like, basically im wonderin if theres a lot of cool people there that would be fun to hang out with. If u cant tell, im just kinda nervous about going so fuckin far away for college(i live in michigan). I'm worried im gonna get into a school thats not very fun and i just study every day to pass the time.

What it comes down to, is how much do you really care about skiing? You will party more, know more people, and have easy access to home in Michigan. But Utah has a lot to offer if you really, seriously, like the outdoors. I don't think it would be hard to party here once a week and meet cool people, but everyone has a different experience.

Seriously man, if you really were a skier, none of that other stuff would matter. If you really were a student, the partying wouldn't matter. Why don't you do us all a favor and go to MSU, party your ass off and flunk out. That way you'll stay off our mountains, out of our parties and you won't be a competition in the workforce.

However, if you want the best skiing you'll ever have in your life, some decent parties and a good education to go along with it, then Utah's your best choice.

It's a matter of priorities and frankly, if your priorities are to crowd up our liftlines and steal our powder, we don't need you.

wow, i dont know if i even want to go where ur going. It sounds like out there u just get plugged up the ass and act like a total prick. Or maybe thats just you.

Anyway, i was just wondering cuz i know nothing about utah. And i understand the skiing will be great but if it means that every second i spend off the hill i'll be staring at a wall, then i might think twice about it. I mean, as much ass as it sucks, theres still some skiing in michigan.

haha MSU is one of the best educations in the country, what scores do you need to get into u of u?

most serious skiers are hardcore partiers anyway. Would i trade in 4 years of partying and skiing for 4 years of good skiing and no partying? I honestly would go with partying and skiing. Nothing like having a great day on the slopes and going to a party to celebrate times that I'll blackout too...but thats just me....It seems like a trend thought that most fun skiiing schools close to the mountains arent party schools. Sure skiing is awesome but I wana have some godam nightlife ya kno, somethin to mix it up a lil instead of 5 people hanging out playing card and watching tv sipping on a couple beers. I'd prob go insane if I went to a school like that. Think it through especially if your an outgoing person.

Awesome Jenna, you're going to love it and have the best skiing of your life.

-Pierceme- All I'm saying is Utah is a good school, Utah snow is the best you'll ever ski, and you can party your ass off if you know where to look. If partying is #1 on your list, stay in Michigan. If Skiing is #1 and partying right there along with it, come to Utah.

Okay! thank you. Thats what i was looking for. I can party out there. I think ur the first person to answer my question for real. Thanks, ill c u guys in utah.

its super easy to get into. its my saftey school. u have to have like a 2.8 GPA and idk what kinda scores for the new SATs but id reason about a 1350-1500
