So I really want to go to this University. I have a few minor questions though like whats the urban scene like (I love urban rails and stuff). What's the closet mountain? Overall is it hard to get in? Is there sweet parties and chill people? Just answers to stuff like that would be a great help.

Utah is easy as hell to get in park city snowbird the canyons alta birghton solitude and deer valley are all within 30 min. idk about the urbans though seeing as i passed on utah for CU boulder

ive heard people say in the past that there's not much partying, but from friends that i personally know out there, they havent stayed in one night so far...

I am also going to be applying there. Can someone tell me if has a nice campus/ nice facilities. I can't fly out there just to get a tour of the college, so I kind of need to find out this information from people that go there or who have visited there.

I'm a freshman there right now. The facilities are amazing, you wont find better dorm rooms at an Ivy League school. All the other buildings are really nice, right now there doing renovations on the library...But everything is super nice. The party situation is pretty chill, you kinda have to look around for them. But once you find them there amazing, you won't be disappointed. The beer makes you piss and the chicks are hot, I think were rated #5 in the US by fhm. But anyways skiing urban, were in the city theres so much stuff to hit around here. Then the mountains are really right outside my dorm window, and the snow should be awesome just like every other year. Well hope that's enough...

thanks. +karma. It is definitely high on my list, and after hearing that it is near my top choice. I was looking to major in meteorology and from what I've heard they have a good program there.

I found that last year for freshman applications there were:
7,123 Recieved
5,833 Accepted
81.89% Accepted
2743 Enrolled
so it seems like it is easy to get in as long as you have a decent gpa and test scores.

i was not impressed at all with the campus. the dorms are hte only nice part and thats just cuz they built them for the olympics and thats covered up by the fact that they are like 2 miles off campus and you have to take a bus to get to campus. the campus is not very clean and in my opinion, really shitty. its also a big commuter school so the party scene wont be the best. however, it is right in salt lake city which is a pimp place and its real close to the skiing

all you have to have is a 2.8 and a 18 on your act and you automatically accepted. I think, Something along those lines.

The dorms are on campus, are you dumb? And buy a longboard/skate board/bike/scooter or anything that moves you and you'll get to class in 5 minutes from the dorms. And the bus system is legit too. And stop trying to assume there isn't a party scene, do you go to school here? No, so you have no idea.

One more question. For some reason I took the act's without the writing section. Does anyone know if they would still accept my act scores, because they are required on the application.

Well you have to be either dumb or not liked at all to not be able to find a party in slc. Also, tell him that a mile isn't 100 yards.

Ok well your an idiot. The campus is fucking beautiful. It takes me about 10 minutes to walk from Chapel Glen (its a dorm) to lower campus for class. Its about a mile walk so stop being a lazy fuck. And the party scene here is off the chain. When we beat UNLV there was a block party on U street with prolly 500 people there getting drunk and some kid bought a kid and just let people drink out of it for free. The people here are so chill and some of the best parties ive ever been to have been here. Party scene is off the fucking hook, girls are SOOO HOT and they are everywhere and the skiing is second to none. Come here its fucking amazing

one. yes the skiing is second to none, im at CU boulder and ive skied every resort in the SLC area and SLC is way better for skiing. as far as the campus goes, the area and mountains are beautiful but the actual campus is not. there was trash everywhere and didnt seem taken care of when i was there. like i said about parties and stuff, i only know what my friend has told me. and im not trashin your dorms, they are way nicer than what we have but they are out of the way. long boards and scooters dont go so well in the snow and its only down hill one way

I really have no idea what you are talking about dude. I have never seen trash anywhere on campus, and I think our campus is really nice. They are always working on it too, and the sprinklers all over campus keep all the grass looking nice. The U employs so many people to keep our campus looking nice. The dorms are really not that far out of the way. It really only takes like 5 minutes to get anywhere on campus with a longboard from the dorms. When you are done with class you can just take a shuttle back up to the dorms which takes like 10 minutes. And in the winter you can just take a shuttle both ways. I don't really understand where your buddy is getting his information because out of my house (5 other people) no one has ever seen any trash anywhere. The dorms are sick, and with the Traxs you have access to like the entire city. It makes me kinda salty that you keep saying this stuff, when multiple people who actually go here keep saying bad stuff. If you want to see a dirty campus check out University of Cincinnati or something.

It also seems like your buddy needs to get out more because finding parties is not really a hard thing to do. It may not be Boulder but like you said it is a commuter school and there is still an abundance of parties.

your friend is just a god damned retard. maybe he didnt know there was a party scene because he didnt have a thing called friends. theres literally massive parties every friday and saturday, and most of the time thursdays as well. kind of stupid to say there isnt a party scene.

I fucked that up but if you go to ACTstudent.org and find the writing section there's a thing where you can search if the school requires it or not. Can anyone confirm this though cause I took the ACT with writing last year and are retaking it next month without writing.

Oh word. Thanks +karma. It said that the writing was not required for them, but can anyone confirm this. I still have time to take the act again with the writing if they do. This is the only school I am looking at that requires the act.

Yea I am sure the party scene is pretty sweet when its compared to other parts of Utah.

Some kid got a keg and let everyone drink out of it for free? Wow, that sounds insane. What are you like 16?

Girls are not that hot there. I am sure you can pick up so many 20 year old girls at a commuter school when everyday after class they go home to their husbands and 4 kids.

Go there, it's fucking amazing.

I LOVE how you hate on utah SO much but yet you never come here, you don't live here, you are such a fucking arrogant, ignorant fucking douche. You have NO right to say anything about utah because you have no fucking idea. Cool, you don't like utah. No one cares about you because you're a prick. Do everyone a favor and just keep it to yourself, thanks.

um well im from albany ny and ualbany was ranked number 1 2 years ago for party schools. and utah is competing with them right now in my opinion.

girls are WAY hot here and most of them are not mormon. your a douche bag. die in a hole.

are you even in college?

Do any of you know what Grad housing is like? What about renting in SLC or somewhere outside of it. For rent I'd be looking for something 500 or less a month utilities included. Definitely really cheap. Is there anything like that in SLC or surrounding area? I wouldn't mind living outside the city closer to the mountains and driving in for class. I obviously don't want to pay cheap and live in a slum either.. I am totally ignorant of SLC though so I have no idea how nice the city is overall. Any info is helpful as I am looking for universities to apply to right now for graduate school.

Are any of you in the film program btw? I am wondering how that is.

if you need any info on getting out to Mt.Hood or Vermont hit me up

YEAH DUDE DRINKING OUT OF THAT KID FOR FREE WAS SO FUN! alek i think i just lawled my pants off. (by kid he meant keg).

yeah if you guys think you can't party at the U, you are severely mistaken. I drank the first 5 nights in a row and was blackout for 3 of them then showed up to class hungover and realized i should probably tone the drinking down a bit. girls are soooooo hot here too its not even funny Alek is leading the dorm with 6 tallies on the wall (aka how many times hes fucked bitches so far) so these bitches put out.

You drank 5 nights in a row? How are you not dead? Their party scene must be insane. You guys sound like the cliche freshman kids who just go nuts since they didn't party at all in high school and then brag about it to everyone.

This is seriously what you sound like to me: Oh my god, last night I played flip cup for like 3 hours, and I put my arm around some girl, best night of my life.

I have been to Utah many times, I will never go back again, ever.

Here are a list of places I would travel to before ever going to Utah again:

Ohio

Nebraska

South Dakota

Oklahoma

Kentucky

Look at how much these states suck (don't try to argue, I really don't care) and yours is worse than all of them.

you sir are a huge faggot, and I totally disagree with you. I will for sure send you some pictures of me shredding this winter that'll make you cry. But anyways whose going to the tanner premiere in PC tonight, and afterwards there's a kegger.

I think this response is in need of a fail picture.

you have obviously never been to salt lake city or park city. because the only aurora is of the olympics and all the incredible things that happened in 2002 and being in the absolutely perfect skiing atmosphere
