U of U or UBC or MSU

So Im looking at colleges and i really cant decide between these 3. I want to major in engineering, but maybe go to medical school. I sort of know which schools have the best programs for engineering, and really want to know more about the night life, party scene, social scene of each, i wont know anyone at any of these places, so were would it be easy to meet know people? and this is a little shallow, but where are the best girls? One thing i wasn't stocked or about MSU was the guy to girl ratio. And if skiing didn't exist, which of these schools would i have the most fun at? (cant let skiing play to big a role in my decision) Please help me NSG, I don't want to waste 4 years and thousands of dollars at somewhere i hate.
Spark Notes: out of U of U, UBC, MSU which do you think is best?

University of British Columbia (if thats what your referring to as UBC) is an amazing school. A beautiful campus along with a variety of fun academic and extra-curricular activities. It is one of the top schools on my list for next year, and am really hoping I get in!!!

For clarification, Im talking about University of Utah, University of British Columbia, and Montana State University, but you guys probably could have guessed that

ive heard that the engineering program at UBC is intense and you really cant have a life doing that. and id really like some more input

Well, I can't really help here with knowing a lot about these colleges, but I personally would really like to got to Montana State. If my parent's let me go (they say it might not be "good enough" for me since it wasn't ranked high/at all and all my other school choices are highly ranked) then I think that's where I'll go. Sorry I couldn't be of much help but I love Montana and Bozeman seems to be a nice place from when I've been passing through and staying the night. It seemed like there were a ton of college kids everywhere if that helps.

You're right, UBC's engineering program is super intense, and your chances of meeting girls in that faculty? SLIIIIMMMMMMMM.

Vancouver is a super friendly city, so meeting people isn't much of a problem. There is just a stereotype towards engineering that it's an all male faculty with no girls.

However, you have the 3 locals for skiing and a sikk deal on a Whis pass as a student. Lots to do in the city if you enjoy outdoors.

UBC has it all... vancouver is a sick, huge city close to everything you could ever imagine with a really good vibe in general, super chill... i mean it is a city surrounded by sick mountains and the ocean.

i actually hadn't really thought of it. I just say Vancover and figured that would be that cool one. what can you tell me about Okanagan?

UBC is great, but the parties here have sucked so far, unless you like the whole frat party thing, but I'm personally not stoked on that. We find stuff to do though. No lack of girls and no lack of fun. The campus is ridiculously sick, I couldn't possibly count the hours I've spent exploring. If you longboard, UBC is also a great place to be. First year for me here, make sure you live in residence and you'll meet a lot of people very fast. Everyone's in the same situation, so its not much of a problem meeting people. If you have any questions about UBC, shoot me a message.

i live in the okanagan and the campus is pretty legit. brand new and is a decent size. from what ive heard the parties are good and there is a lot of sexy bitches plus theres 2 skis hills within 2 hours or less plus the rest of the ski hills near it and another side not is that if you happen to not like it you can transfer to ubc vancouver easily

i go to msu and really like but i know people who have gone to both the others and said good things. college is going to be fun just about anywhere you go and all 3 of these have good skiing near by.

I got to be honest unless you dont really care a whole ton about your schooling with a degree in Engineering your not gunna have much of a life regardless... Im in Engineering and im in class this morning at 8:00 and ill get out of a Chem lab tonight at 9:00... All day homework and classes

regardless of what he said montana is pretty dope the people are chill the snow is awesome but big sky is an hour and a half further than bridger if you want that park

UBC dude. It's a sick school and you'll get a hell of an education there. They have a good medical program too so if you do well on your MCATS after engineering you dont have to change schools.I have a few buddies out there and the social scene is tight apperently. Plus Vancouver is a sick city both for partying and for living in. And after if you want to stay you can easily find a way to get a job in Vancouver. The city is also super sick cause theres so many areas so whatever your into you'll find somewhere to fit in. And plus you said skiiing shouldn't change your opinion but it doesnt hurt to be so close to Whistler and big white now does it?

Is money an issue for you? because depending on if you are American or Canadian is gonna change the price considerably. I know in the states if you go outta state the price goes up considerably i believe and if you live in the States coming to Canada might be more expensive.

I've heard good things about UBC from people i know but nothing about the other two

Im from the US but it looks like it will cost a pretty similar amount to go to any of those schools. and if i want to get into med school, what should i major in? Biology?

damn dude you need to schedule better.. im in biomed engineering (supposedly either the hardest or one of the hardest majors out there) and still ski 3-4 days a week on a good week.. and next semester it will be more.. Oh and my votes for U of U, love it here, and just got done skiing with my writing professor.. gotta love it

US students are international at UBC, so it is pretty spendy. it would have been my top school, but since i haven't taken physics because my plan wasn't engineering at the beginning of this year (which it is now) i'd have to go for 5 years and i don't think i'm up for that. also from what i understand, they have classes like high school. not in the same building, but usually 50 minutes a day 5 days a week unless they are lab classes, which means whistler would only be an option on the weekends.

but vancouver is sick, whistler passes are half price, plus UBC has their own lodge in whistler that students can stay at for free when you're there as you book it early enough.

if you're looking at plastics engineering, possibly check out western washington. they're more of a design school, but i guess they have a sweet plastics program. and baker isn't too far.

im at ubc and its pretty sick. definitely not a party school though... but when you turn 19 you can buy booz and hit up bars and shit. im in arts but i know the engineering program here is pretty damn tough (i guess it would be everywhere though?)

if you have more general questions about ubc coming from a first years mind hit me up.

Man if I was a engineering major I would not want to go to the UofU MSU if I wanted to complete my undergrad in under 7 years. I would spend all my time skiing. Actually I've been told that its not uncommon for people to take upwards of 6 years to complete a 4 year degree at MSU. You might want to consider Oregon State, great engineering school and good skiing that isn't terribly far away

are there any engineers at U of U? whats your work load like? and is there fun to be had at U of U that isnt skiing? how is the whole commuter campus thing work out for all you that live on campus?

Im easily on course to graduate.. probably a year later and it is in biomed.. and believe me, i ski A LOT. Oh and its at the U

i live in kelowna (ubco is 10 mins away from kelowna) and ive been to ubco twice and it seems pretty legit. i have no clue about the programs though. it just seems legit.

I'm not sure what classes you were looking at but I haven't heard about any that are 50min 5 days a week. Most of them are 3 days a week and then there will be a lab and maybe a tutorial but you can schedule them on the same day if you think you can handle 7+hrs of study in a day.
