U of U kids...

Thinking of going there next year, just a few concerns...

I'm from Breckenridge, CO and it's easy because the Colorado Pass is good for 5 mountains. I'm worried if I go to U of U I'll buy the wrong pass and all my friends will go to a different mountain... Where do the majority of people ride at U of U? Or is there really a variety?

I really would love to spend a season at Alta or even the Canyons but I feel like everyone is going to ride PC...

Also, where's the hot spot to live around there?

+++++K for any advice/help. Thanks guys!!! Lookin forward to getting out to UT for some real pow a few times this season.

well first of all, ask your friends where they are getting a pass to. it depends on what type of riding you do, park riders usually go to pc or the canyons. big mtn/back country riders go to brighton, alta, and snowbird. im pretty sure alta and snowbird do the alta-bird pass, which is both resorts, but i think its really expensive. otherwise, if you get a pass anywhere else, you can only ride that resort. the hot spot to live around here is most likely around campus, foothill area, and sugarhouse area...

i just moved out here from colorado this year too, kinda sucked going from the colorado pass to over here but its not too shitty cuz the skiing is better. Honestly if you are coming out here by yourself just live in the dorms for a while, they are pretty fun, chill, you can still smoke in them and shit and its good way to meet people. but im getting a park city pass and snowbird pass, most people do park city, but theres enough skiers here its not an issue.

Everyone shreds PC, so get that. Then when you move here, figure out where everyone is going to shred for pow and go there, you cant go wrong at any of the cottonwood resorts.

The park scene is most legit at PC for sure, as for pow if you can afford two passes that just depends on where you're friends are going. Pass deadlines would be a few months after you move into the dorms so you got plenty of time to meet people and figure out where everyone is gettin passes.

I don't know if there is a hotspot to live, but the Avenues are pretty populated with college kids.
Don't worry about where everyone else is going. Just look at trail maps and read about the resorts then choose. The rest should come from there

Holy shit, thanks to all of you!!! Wasn't expecting such an awesome response... definitely gave me more reassurance.

++++K's all around! Also made me more excited for UT, great people... I knew this was one of those stupid questions that probably gets asked all the time. So thanks for not losing it! haha!

Ali, You probably wanna live in Sugarhouse (where ash lives)and PC is always a safe bet resort-wise and BC is always good too if you can only afford one pass, gonna try to get out there myself this year since I only have a PC pass but getting a Colorado Pass too so see you soon kid!

me and all my buddies are shredding canyons for park and snowbird for pow. i love it here. find your crew, and decide amongst yourselves where you're gonna go. you honestly can't really go wrong with any of the places.
