The U of U is near Park City, Deer Valley, Alta, Canyons, Snowbird, Brighton. Most can be hit within a hour.

theres a shitty little mexican college in mammoth lakes cali. and within 35 mins of U o U theres about 7 resorts i can think of off hand. Some of the best bigmountain and park skiing around aswell

God is an American.

i don't know norcal colleges very well...and are you looking for colleges or universities?...if you want both mountains and water...i think you might be better off looking into the socal area...the mountains may not be the best but they're something...typically the water will be closer and the mountains will be a couple hours drive but if you have the cash for a car and the outrageous gas prices out there then you're set...mammoth is roughly 5 hours from LA and you can easily do weekend trips....i can't really give you names cuz i don't know what kind of school you want...there are a ridiculous number of schools out there...

There's no comparison -- UU basically has Alta, Snowbird and (the very underrated) Solitude as local areas. The closest comparable school to Tahoe is probably Nevada-Reno, and that's further and not nearly as good a school.

There are plenty of schools in the Bay Area and Central Valley, but you won't be hitting Squaw after class.

snowbird is 21 miles from the u of u dorms. is that close enough? pc is a bit further, but it is faster driving speeds.

i live in socal and go to UC santa barbara which is on the beach but we are about 5 hours from Mammoth. Surprisingly enough we still have a ski and board team that is actually very good. But any of the colleges in socal are about the same distance i would say from the so cal resorts. UCSD is probably a little farther.

there arent many nor cal beach schools except for maybe santa cruz and monteray st. which are both more than 4 hours from tahoe. sac state and UC davis are both about in the middle of cali being about 2.5 hours to both the beach and the mountains. hope that helps

UC Davis, one and a half hours from skiing or surfing, you choose.
