U of M Ski and Snowboard Club

So I just went to the club meeting tonight after transferring to the U. Definently not what I expected. The whole emphasis was on their trip and partying. Nothing wrong with either of those two things, its just that there are plenty of people to party with already. I was hoping the club would be like the one at University of Utah which organizes discount passes, premieres, water ramp jumps, tramp seshes etc. Plus it looked like most of the kids their snowboarded. Anyone else from NS in the SSC?

i'm pretty sure they just organize that one trip a year. travis_halverson used to be in it but he graduated last spring. ask him for more details.

yeah they mostly just do the christmas trip and the spring break trip. You can meet people to ride with there, but you are gonna have to set it up yourself. The trips are pretty sweet though. I would recommend going on one.

When I started the NU Ski & Snowboard Club I was the only park skier. Now after a few years skiers dominate the club. Show them the light. And we rode for fun, competed, got discounted passes, hosted rail jams & premieres, partied a lot, and had winter & spring break trips. We were like one big happy family.
Whenever someone asked me why the club didnt have something, I would just politely respond "because you havent done it yet". This got ppl more involved and made them feel like they were really a part of the club.
So what I'm saying is join the club and help make it better.

thanks welch guy lol.

anyways in the spirit of that, I called up the university gymnastics club to find out the details on how and when they practice to find out if they have tramps and foam pits to practice on. They do, and right on campus too. I am going to talk to the ski and snowboard club this week and see if we can't get our own official time once a week but I am for sure going to be practicing every week friday 6-8 pm and and sunday 6-8pm. If you go to the U you should PM me and lets go practice!
