U of Florida student tasered

I was watching that on the news the other day, and I completely think that it wasn't deserved. All they needed to do was say your time is up, please come off the stage. I really think that the cops used excessive force when it wasn't needed.
 
personally, i think he needed it. he was obviously resisting arrest and wouldnt comply with the cops, so that is what you get. although i hate tasers all together....

was it really necessary? he didn't appear to be armed with anything, and there were at least 6 cops there. surely they could have overpowered and cuffed him?

kinda sucks cause the cops are trialling tasers here in nz. its been a year long trial and already in the trial period (which should be when the cops using them only use them when really necessary) they have been used when they didn't need to be.
 
The idiot deserved it. He was obviously resisting the police officers, and acting very irrational and brash. He was told to leave, obviously, but didn't. Kid was acting like a douche bag and I fucking hate the left wing news groups who show him only getting shocked and are all disgusted by it. Why don't they show the whole video of him pushing away from the officers, creating a potentially dangerous situation, and then resisting arrest. Fuck him. What do you think would happen? The officer told him to stop resisting or he would taser him, but the kid kept going so what the fuck you think is going to happen? Next time don't act like a fuck turd spewing all this "freedom of speech" bullshit and just ask your question and leave.
 
sure he pushed them and such, but at the time of him being tasered he was on the ground surrounded by like 6 officers not even resisting arrest anymore. Yeah he got out of hand a little bit, but those officers definately did NOT need to taser. And that is my hopefully nuetral post. I hate taking sides..

seriously though, if one unarmed, nonviolent college (yes he was resisting arrest, but not violently) creates a potentially dangerous situation for five police officers, dont give them tasers, give them pacifiers and a nice little nap.
 
i think that yes he deserved it in the end, he was resisting, but the cops moved in after they cut the mic, you can hear kerry say let him speak. kerry didnt have any problem with the kid, he even answered his question about why he conceded the 04 election.
 
He should be lucky that that's all he got. He was fighting to get away from police. He should just stop crying and go back to school.

I agree, he was being obnoxious and was asked to leave. Just like if casino guards ask you to leave, you just leave, you don't start spewing out "I'm staying" bullshit unless you want to be put in your place.

Don't get me wrong, I hate the 5-0 as much as the next person but that annoying sucker deserved it by all means.
 
he shouldnt have been tasered. but i do think he deserved it, he tried to escape from the cops grasp. if he didnt do anything then there would be a problem, even if he didnt get tasered i still think it would make the news.
 
i think he was a nut and he wasnt stopping when they told him too

so therefore i think that he mostly deserved it, although they could have handcuffed him
 
nobody deserves to get tasered because he is being "rude" thats now how it works, its called freedom of speech. if you think he deserved to get tasered because of that then you are fucked up, and shouldnt be living in a "free" country.

but he was resisting the cops, and for that i think he might have deserved it. but 6 cops cant hold down one pussy little college kid?

although the cops started it in the first place, the kid was just talking, it may have been disrespectfull but its his right. the cops tried arresting him for nothing, and thats why the kid flipped out, i bet i would flip out if i got arrested for talking in a free country, thats just fucked up, i dont blame him at all for resisting arrest, though it does give those stupid pigs a reason to taser him.

and in another video you can even hear kerry saying to let him talk and that he wants to answere his question.

i fucking hate cops like that, they think they are so powerfull and can do anything they want.

i had an experience with a cop on a power trip just yesterday, we were riding our bikes to a movie theatre, and as we were locking our bikes up on a bike rack, this cop comes over and tells us to stop loitering. we had been there for mabye 20 seconds, we told him we just got there, he said "dont be talking back to me" then my friend whos mom is a cop started going off at the cop about how he cannot do that and he has no athority because he was actually off duty. then the cop put my friend in hand cuffs, which was totally illegal for the cop to do since he was only arguing, and even if we were loitering it isnt a punnishable by arrest, atleast where we are.

so then my cuffed friend starts saying how fucked the cop is and how he is gonna be fired and all this shit. and guess what? he told his cop mom about it and now the cop actualy is fired, i guess it wasnt the first thime he had done this crap.
 
Okay, first of all, he did not deserve to be tasered. he might have been resisting force, but that gives no legit reason to tase someone in my opinion. There were like 5 police officers and ONE of them obviously could lift him up singlehandedly... They could have just as easily taken him out of the place if that was really the aim WITHOUT using a potentially deadly weapon (if he had heart problems or something, that law enforcement agency could have been FUCKED upside the head and sued for millions.. which just hurts more floridinians because thats tax money)

And, its not like he was really doing anything bad. Yeah yeah.. he was being a bit radical as well as pushy and bossy, but PLEASE... he was a KERRY SUPPORTER in this case... its not like it was bush up there and he was bitching him out. He was merely asking Kerry a question... which he was not given the answer to.

A similar thing happened at UCLA last year, in which a student was preaching or something in a library against the war, and a bunch of security gaurds came in and tased the fuck out of him. Like 6 times... even as he was screaming in pain, they tased him to keep quiet and stand up... as if he could.
