Tyrolia Peak 12 binding Opinions

I'm 5'11 & 175lbs and I ski with a DIN of 9. Do you think the peak 12's will be ok for cruisin the park?

(Im askin because I live in Poland and the peak 12s are the widely available and popular here)

The Peak series was replaced by the Attack series years ago which have a much shorter mounting area, much flatter ramp delta(heels are high on the Peaks causing a back seat feel), Grip Walk sole capability and sell for around $140 US for their Attack2 13. Much better binding than the Peaks were.

Don’t know why you are still considering bindings that are over 5 model years old and have been replaced by much better bindings in 2013 by the Attack series and last year the Attack2 series.

Peaks were a decent binding 10 years ago but to get them new in 2018 is kinda crazy unless they are free.

Browsing Polish Ebay it appears you can get the Attack 13 for about 800 zloty roughly $230 USD,

how much are the peak 12?

Rossignol FKS 14https://www.ebay.pl/itm/Rossignol-FKS-140-Dual-WTR-95/253394653103?hash=item3aff7f8faf:g:~iEAAOSwWktabrL5 roughly $200USD

Also how wide are the skis you're mounting?

The peaks are for 100 usd and the underfoot is 90 I believe

Also the skis that I bought (al dentes) came premounted with the Peak 12s and that’s why I’m asking. If it I should just by a new pair of binders and mount em up or ski on the peaks that are already in there and get new ones after/if they break?

If they came on used skis, they are still decent, safe bindings so just use them until you get new skis and bindings. I just wouldn’t buy the Peaks new for a new pair of skis as there are better models now available.

If they are still in good shape use them.

this. They're good bindings so ride them until they die. Plus they were free which makes them the best kind of bindings. When they do die, there are plenty of options out there to look into. Attack2 series is the today version of the peak. The normal attack series up until this year can be found for relatively cheap and are widely considered to be in the top 3 alpine bindings for any kind of riding. Pivots/FKS are up there too along with the STH/STH2 series of bindings.

Thanks for all the input guys, I really appreciate it. One more question, how many times can I mount a pair of skis? The dude I bought these from had them armada factory mounted (I think 2.5cm back) and then mounted em true center.

(I wasn’t aware of this when he sent me the skis fml)

2 or 3 times is fine as long as there's space between the old holes and the new... so it depends where theyve been mounted before, and where you want to mount them. you might run into a situation where you don't get your first pick for mounting location because it would make it too close to existing holes
