Tyrolia attack 13 bindings

Has anyone else had problems with the attack 13 breaks bending? Whenever I land switch and my bindings pop of my breaks caught and bend like a bitch! I have been just worrying about landing switch and breaking my bindings or fucking up my break completely. So can anyone else relate to this?

this will happen to every binding. its the nature of the design of the brakes

But the only binding that wouldn't break off the ski or the brakes wouldn't bend would be the fks?

I have the same problem with marker squires, I've shattered the brakes landing switch on a 5, landing switch without even doing a trick on a rail that was only 1' above the ground, simply grinding a rail and having the brake shatter and ski flew into the woods and two days ago I landed switch off a rail (No spin involved) and I was lucky to only bend the legs. Its getting quite annoying and I'm looking into fks 120s but I hear the brakes on those aren't super durable either so I'm stuck in the same boat as you haha

I have pivot 14s (same ask fks) and attack 13s. Ive had problems once for both. Honestly, my friends seem to run into more problems on their pivots/fks than me and my friends with attacks. It happens to every binding. Bend them a little more in/higher off the ground if you have to, don't let them stick out too much. An unofficial rule is to have your brakes no more than 15mm wider than the waist of your ski. Bend them to whatever they need to be, even if your brakes are only like 8mm wider.

It happens to all bindings when wrecking sWitch. Fks will be even harder/more expensive to replace than the attacks

I have the Tyrolia Attack 13 bindings. I had the same issue where my brakes got bent landing off a small side hit. The brake caught the snow and started spinning me. In my case, I keep my skis in a closet with my club and someone knocked them over. The skis scissored and bent the brakes real bad. I just put my boot in and carefully bent them back to normal and haven't had an issue since.

It will happen to all bindings unfortunately when you crash switch. I used to blow up my Axial2 120 brakes on a regular basis likely completely split them into two.

The best bindings for brake durability so far have been STH2 13's for me. Been skiing a whole year on the same pair of brakes with no issues except one slightly bent brake arm which was just a matter of bending it back into shape.

Brakes on the fks are designed essentially the same way, but more expensive, they can still break just like every other binding on the market can still pull out of the ski. I have seen both situations many times.

Should I just tighten my dins to 6 1/2 or 7? Im around 115-120lbs

gave all you k+

I wouldn't adjust them more than 1 din level. It is most likely because of your brake which doesn't call for you to change your din. Try and make your brakes sit a little high off the ski, and make sure it doesn't overhang

What are they at currently? If you keep ejecting prematurely or when you don't want to then you could go up a DIN level but if your skis aren't coming off when you don't want to I would leave the DINs alone. Check your forward pressure as well if you keep ejecting when you land switch.

They were normally at 5 1/2 and wanted to bring them up to 6 1/2 what do you think and I do need to learn how to land switch better on rails?

1 learn to land switch better, it will help with everything

2. check your forward pressure on your bindings, if you dont know how to do this, get a shop technician to do it (should always be free to check)

3. if you feel you are landing switch properly and your forward pressure is correct, then think about turning up your din 1/2 notch at a time for a good few switch landing hits and continue to turn up if you are still releasing.

The root problem is not landing switch properly and the fact brake design has not really changed since introduction before the rise of riding switch for any length of time or landing switch and so current brakes are not made to work in the case of a high speed/impact release and so break.

Going up to 6 1/2 wouldn't hurt as long as you're a competent skier.
