Tyrol rail jam...thoughts??

Does anybody else think it might be worth it to flex some NS muscle and call tyrol a bunch tomorrow and see if they can't set up at least a rail jam on a small section of snow by saturday? if they can blow one or two more nights on just one section it could easily be done, people set up rail jams in the summer all the time.

they're trying to open as soon as possible, so calling them and telling them to open sooner would probably just bug them and not help

word and its not lookin good anyway really...i had it suggested to me by a snowboarder friend and figured id see what thoughts were

i know, their tentative opening date is the 27th...they're always open before then for hiking but this year i dont know. for the past like...month i've been saying "hopefully next week it'll get cold" and it won't...with that being said, hopefully it'll get cold next week so we can ski BEFORE DECEMBER!!!
i'm about to choke a bitch

i know once the season gets under way i'm going to forget all about having to wait a few extra weeks to ride...i'm just gonna be so stoked for preseason

I'll be really mad if they open on Saturday for hiking. I switched weekends with someone and have to work this weekend.

just called their main office and the lady said they would be for sure open the day after thanksgiving; lift serviced. does anybody know when they'll be open for hiking?

water freezes at 32 in most cases. they blow snow at 28 at tyrol. therefore if it is upper 30's and lower 40's, they will not be blowing snow. sorry to be a downer. hope it snows soon. im excited to jib tyrol over thanksgiving

I don't think you understood...I said since the HIGHS would be so low it is a good indicator of whether or not the lows will become low enough for snow making to be possible...especially if there is a clear sky, this makes temperatures drop at night (the lows for the day) since the act of celestial cooling takes place...Lows tonight in the mid 20's with around 30% cloud cover, decreasing overnight...Saturday night the dew point is foretasted for 26...This is the lowest temperature possible since the ambient temperature cannot go below the dew point...the point at which the air reaches 100% saturation...the 26 degree dew point will not be reached during tomorrow night and the relative humidity will only be in the mid 70%'s om the early morning hours...so as a result the low temperature will only be in the lower 30's with a south wind that will not allow the temperature to drop very far below freezing...unless Tyrol can open with only 1 night of snow-making I don't see it possible for them to open this weekend unless tomorrow nights lows will reach into the 20's...sorry for the rant but i am getting too frustrated with the delay of the start of the season...and i am almost flat broke because i have not had a day of work yet at my local hill...but please understand the difference between a HIGH and a LOW.

Ya sorry for the rant...but it is the pilot in me throwin' down the in depth weather knowledge...I can get a little too obsessed about the weather since it is always out to kill me in the air...more since i have not had a chance to click into my bindings this year...but hope it gets cold though!
