Two year colleges near Mammoth.

Working on differnt options for college, and the possibility of going to a two year school before I pick a major and a university is becoming more and more appealing. I'd spend a year at a 2year in VT. Then my next year outwest and finish up my second year. Then off to a 4 year.

Whistler and Mammoth are my first two choices...so...hook me up with some info.

Thanks much.

dont know about mamoth, but there is a community college in north lake tahoe. Sierra nevada college or something like that. I would prefer tahoe any way.

It's not like I'm not looking for a "serious education" The amount of money it costs for college, and what you pay for your first two years, espically undecided, can almost always be accomplished at a two-year school, transfer credits and focus on a school with your intended major.

there is a community college in the town of mammoth. but a lot of credits earned at a community college don't transfer to universities. you can ask lenzner about that

SNC is not a good school and REALLY expensive. i had an art teacher that was from that school and he was a walking waste of life. seriously the worst teacher in the world.

from what i have heard about the community school in mammoth they dont offer a lot of classes that you need, buttttt it seems like a good excuse to live in mammoth for 2 years

^yeah it seemed small. Never really checked it out, just drove past it all the time.

Sierra Nevada College is actually a private four year institution, not a community college. It doesn't recieve money from the state, and its located in Incline Village, which is why tuition is ridiculious.

If you go to a community college, your credits should transfer to larger Universities much easier than from a private school.

cerro coso is easy as fuck. teachers don't even come to class on pow days, but i wouldn't live in mammoth again if you paid me to.

go to a school around tahoe, salt lake community college, or colorado mountain college. jop opportunities blow in mammoth and the people suck.

If you're transferring SNC isn't necessarily too expensive... I ended up going there because it was cheaper than going to a Cal State school such as Humboldt or SLO... the state of Nevada gives large grants (not loans, the money is free) to transfer students if they have x amount of credits coming in.

I got so many grants and loans form Sierra Nevada College. I thought I would never be able to afford the school but it was really easy and the staff is helpful in making it affordable. If you are serious about going to school and skiing only 10 minutes away, check it out you will be suprised...it's not that bad I swear!
