i just broke my scratch 140s on sunday, after only 6 days on them. that, in addition to the line reactor 10s i broke my first day. i think i am jinxed. on the rossis, i was throwing 5s over a 25 table, and i double ejected , and my brake caught on the landing and actually bent the inner metal in the heel base, in addition to the plastic up top brakeing. i now have to wait for two weeks before i can use my new skis, and this sucks

buy some Look ZR-18's. 18 spring and all metal. The weight wont affect you, and they wont break.

theres warranty on the bindings. So send them to rossi and see if they will send you another pair.

SMILE, its the second best thing you can do with ur mouth

Hmmm... well, I have 2 pairs of all-metal team bindings... one pair Salo, one Rossi (same as P18). One pair is going on my pistols, but I don't know which yet. The other, I don't know what I'll do with. I might consider giving them up. Wish I could decide which to use...

Yea, pick up some Rossi FKS or Look (whatever race stock is) bindings.

Acl: Salo team stuff is much sturdier than their consumer gear. Otherwise I'd agree with you.

my binding were sent back yesterday. i turns out i ejected so hard that the brake bent of the metal in the rotational part of the heel piece. completely. im thinking for next year maybe some deadbolts. any ideas about those?

binding destruction count: 2 so far this season, one pair of lines and one pair of rossis: what will be next?

I would go with rossi fks 185 for the moving parts problem, you cant bend the rotational piece because it is superflat on the base and all metal I would wait until year 2 or 3 on deadbolts and the line reactor owners will tell you why.

^ it's actualy different with deadbolts. They are made by VISTA (or something like that) who are really big in europe. So it's not like they are designing something new from scratch. Apparantly the deadbolts are going to have a screw pattern that's really good for switch landings. I don't know to much about em.

Can't go wrong with Rossi FKS though.

i dont want race bindings. but yeah, i am not buying bindings new to the market again. line says that 'change is good' but they need to fix some problems with the reactor

i'd like to hear how you broke the lines......

i've got a pair of the original ones, from 2 seasons ago, and they seem to be bombproof.

he's not joking

i hope your right man, because mine need to stay intact. It does seem like im only waiting for them to break. If thats the right thing to say. I can see how the toepiece would rip off tho, that how i think mine will go. They seem pretty solid so far tho

311 is the Fuckin Shit Mutha Fucka

well, on my first day i took them up to our base chair, set them on the ground, and tried to click in. part of the toe piece broke off. to boot, when i picked them up to look at what happened, i realized the toepiece was sliding all over the place, even withthe locking switch locked down

i agree. salomons are sucky

i have a couple of sets of fks 155's, same construction as the 185 but with a slightly lighter spring. plus, there bomb proof.

i cracke my scratch 100s, right by the brake. they still work fine but do u think i should send them into rossi, i was doing switch 3's when i broke it

i had the shop pull mine off, and look at the rotational plate under the plasic. they did that for free, and if the plate isnt bent or broken, then they are fine and you may or may not to replace the brakes, depending on how much they are mangled.

binding destruction count: 3 so far this season, one pair of lines and two pairs of rossis: what will be next?

i broke the brakes on another pair of scratch 140s yesterday, on a five. does anyone think that rossi might have noticed how weak their brake setup is in the scratch bindings, which are their freestyle bindings?

ya i bend/break brakes pretty often and easily

it sucks. 4frnt should make the deadbolt brakes bombproof as a solution ot our problem

binding destruction count: 3 so far this season, one pair of lines and two pairs of rossis: what will be next?

^have you ever considered that YOU might be the problem? Perhaps you should focus on improving your riding skills and beings smoother, rather than bitching about bindings.

The 4frnt binding is nothing new. If you want one now, go find a VIST online dealer and order one. It's the same shit. I hear they're nothing special or better than what's already out.

Bahahaha... or, you could call it the 'elitist snob' cult. Anyways, my family already owns a country club, so no thanks.

J.D. May

It's actually a VERY good binding, that is used on the WC quite a bit. It features dual toe springs, one specifically for upward release (the smaller one), and the main spring for lateral release. What this means to you is no pre-releasing.

4FRNT is also playing around with the hole pattern in the heel to stengthen it for swicth landings. So it's a slightly different model than VIST is putting out.

By offering the 8-16 DIN, they're esentially offering a 'green spring' binding.

Since this has been proven on the WC level, I wouldn't have ANY trust issues with this binding.

last time i checked, bindings are ment to release, and the brakes shouldnt be going like this on a 'freestyle' specicific binding

binding destruction count: 3 so far this season, one pair of lines and two pairs of rossis: what will be next?

I'd advise strongly against any form of Salomon bindings, unless you get the team types like J.D. has. I was about ready to break the damn things off my skis today after they pre-released 3 times when landing fakie in 2 inch deep powder. Last year I broke two breaks because they caught when landing fakie.

I'm going to get Looks for my new skis, but I'm not sure which kind yet. If I were you I'd just warranty your Rossi's and get a new pair since they are the same as Looks and neither company has really had many problems, if any.

thats what im doing. hopefully they will get back by this weekend, so i can ski most of christmas break on them

binding destruction count: 3 so far this season, one pair of lines and two pairs of rossis: what will be next?

He's already trashed a pair of Lines. For some reason, I think you need to learn to land smoother. It seems like you are wrecking bindings that shouldn't be wrecked from normal use.

^ yeah. if you're fucking up, that's one thing, but binding failure is different. i screwed up the brakes on my reactors on sunday pretty badly screwing up a 180. but i just bent them back.

i was actually not joking at all about my reactors being bombproof. Read my thread.

our mtn doesnt have anything big up yet, so maybe i should stop throwing 5s over the 20 footer. the odd thing is sometimes they are smooth, others they arent. oh well. the metal part on mine isnt bending, the plastic houseing is what is breaking.

binding destruction count: 3 so far this season, one pair of lines and two pairs of rossis: what will be next?

i have a feel good story for you. rossi send my bindings back today, and gave me brand new scratch 140s, this years model, even though i sent in the last years model. they got them back to me today, even though i sent them back last tuesday. that is record time for a warrentty. this has renewed my faith in rossi. buy their stuff!
