Twintips on the roofrack..

So back in the days when twintips were unheard of we would always put our skis on the roof rack, bindings up, tip towards the back.

Whats the best way to put twintips on a roof rack? Bear in mind this will be for a 4 hour trip...

What gravity?

My dad bought a Yakima ski rack for our suburban. We bought it before our trip from Wis. to Big Sky and Bridger Bowl Montana.

there is a clamp on the front and rear of te car top that you clamp the skis down into. Works for skis of all kinds, snowboards, cross country skis, because you can adjust the length between the two clamps

so i'd say go to yakima.com(if thats their website) and/or go to your local ski ship and ask them for a yakima ski rack for your car

E-Mail me at SkierDave87@yahoo.com for anymore questions, i could have my dad talk to you too, He LOVES it!

we have a box. that way theres no wind hitten the stuff. plus it gives space for poles and other gear.

haha one time i was going down the highway w/ my cousin and his snowboard flew off the roofrack and went sailing behind us. we had to stop the car and run like 300 yards to get it...luckily no 1 hit it and it didnt get run over. the thing was still in perfect condition.

remember yesterday.live for today.plan for tommorrow.

Has anyone seen that Warren Miller movie where that Laser (a sailboat) flys off the roof rack in the beginning? That is so sweet!

Anyways look into Yakima for racks and boxes. If you need it for short trips get the rack, because its cheaper and for long trips definatly get the box, It really does fuck your skis up like mentioned before.

we have the rack and from Madison Wisconsin to Bozeman Montana, non of our skis got crapped up or anything!

the rack rules cuz you can fit like 6-7 pairs of skis or 4 snowboards

yeh you can just put them in like you would with regular skis, with the backs facing forward. ive done it many times and there hasnt been any problems yet.

in some gondolas you have to separate your skis, because the twin tips wont even go into the hole, same with those trolly busses to and from the mountain.

chuck them in the back, hehe, just put a seat down and lean them over the back inside the car, all good. and by the way, roadsalt is not allowed to be used here so no worries with that.
