twin tip telemark skis

so what's up, what are some twin tip tele's, i just started tele-ing this past season and am looking into getting a pair.....anyone with any info?

i noticed k2 makes a ski called the 'piste pipe' any reviews?

Being out there skiing every day, good or bad, just playing around with friends, with no contests or filming- that is the real spirit of skiing for me. that is why i started skiing, and if i lose those moments that is what will make me stop skiing.
 
k2 piste pipes, karhu jaks, agents and ruckits..the piste pipes are just the publik enemys with a different graphic and a little more flexible

No Jaks are Motherships not 1260's. Line and Karhu use the same molds for making their skis but their skis have a little different construction because tele skis hve a different flex and are lighter. For twin tips I'd go with Karhu Agents or K2 piste pipe because they have a pretty soft flex which would be a good for a beginner. I'm on the BD havoc this year which I really really like but they are really stiff. I have a little trouble keeping them under control and I've teled for 11 seasons. Another ski to look at would be the K2 hippy stinx is live in the west. It's a tele version of the Seth Pistol.

The Karhu Jak is made on the Line Darkside mold of a couple of years ago. I tele on my old PE's and my old AK Launchers, both rule in their different areas for tele.

I respect tele skiers, but im not sure what use they would have for twin tips. Maybe for landing switch, but that would be hard. How could you tele ski backwards?

I don't really know how they do it but when I was at high north last year there were some sick tele jibbers, they did everything, rails, pipe you name it and they didn't seem to have any problem landing switch.

i dunno if you've ever seen christophe around in co, but he's probably the best tele jibber i've seen. well, he's the only one i've seen. haven't skied with many, or him very much for that matter. anyway, i think he's on just reg twins (k2s i believe) and does fine. does everything actually. flares in the pipe and rails. i think he's ten80 on ns.com if you want to shoot him a message.

big_skygurl, why twqin tip tele? for fun...why do the same thing every day on skis, why not make skiing hard as shit? if anyone out there hasn't tried telemarking i suggest it....only reason i did it was cuz i broke my skis and was waiting for new ones for a week and 1/2 and i feel in love with that shit, every turn is somewhat of a challege and riding pipe and rails are fuckin hard as shit (at least for me right now)....but that's the fun in it. on alpine you jsut lean and turn....kinda boring. plus its a damn good work out.

Yeah tele rules. Don't listen to that one guy, as I said before Jaks are MOships telefied. Same dimensions and core just different flex.

'I don't know why they would have twin tips' What a stupid thing to say. You need to brush up on you new school telemarking fella. Go get Tough guy productions film next year. It will blow you away. I skied with three of the guys in it and they are amazing.

Yeah it's hard to land switch tele but it can be done. Getting twins this year helped me out a ton. I landed a 180 over a forty footer at the end of the season and was pretty stoked about that. I saw Max Minicini land a 9 which was crazy. So yeah it's being done.

all the twin-tip tele skis look gay compared to the alpine ones except for the K2s. i would really only consider getting the piste pipes or hippy stinx.

 
Don't count out Karhu. Next year they are putting the equal twin back on the Jak just like Lines. Also they are coming out with the Agent which is pretty much the same as the Chronic. I talked to one of their pros and he loved them.

i've seen the agent. looks pretty sweet. graphics are kind of weird, but that's just me.
