Tweaking mute so hard you pop your ski off

yeah happened to me today and I've also seen it happen to other people in some insane clips online. Is it a binding problem or a tweak problem? like I don't think I put too much pressure, maybe it was the angle. Managed to salvage the landing and slid away but it scared the fuck outta me

As a former owner of marker squires I can relate

I've done this with my pivots. All it takes is too low din and/or some snow caught up in the boots to make the boots slightly loose from the bindings

Oh god, its why Im scared of tweeking mutes. Happends too often.

Upping your din is the best solution, but it has its risks.

To test the ski, I do a practice mute on the ground. Then, place the boot snugly against the knee (like breaking firewood) and pull the ski and look for movement. If you can pull the ski off, Din is too low.

Adjusting forward pressure when this happened to me solved the issue, it is not always caused by low DIN but can definitely contribute.
