i didnt see the xgames...but i saw an interview of turpin saying he was going to do the pipe fully switch....what happened?

couldnt get enough 'amplitude' points...since they are like 79% of the score

to progress, rules must be broken.
 
the judges couldnt see their score sheets cos they are too short-sighted to see that switch pipe is OBVIOUSLY the progression of pipe, rather than just hucking crappy 5's; look at slopestyle, and the percentage of competitors skiing most of their run switch.

The qualifier was in a slow pipe, so obviously it's gonna be tough to get much boost going switch. In the icy conditions, he would've owned.

bibby did a switch 7 (think), it was one of the best tricks of the night and the announcers didn't say anything about it.

 
Turpin did an all switch run at a whistler invitational or something, he did it like 2 years ago i doubt you will find a video.

 
Amplitude is not everything. The judges just look for eye apeal not how hard the trick actually is. A switch seven in a pipe is probaly harder than a regular 1080. They judges are doush bags

 
that sucks that turpin missed out by a point. my friend told me that turpins run wasn't all switch.

in prelims he did a 7 into 2 switch 5's and in the second run he did an air to fakie to a sw. 5 then in to a sw. 9 i beleive. no sw. rodeos though i dont think

Going huge like dumont is sweet, but I agree with you guys that switch is the future of the pipe. Idk, in my opinion, if i was a member of the general public just watching skiing superpipe, i think watching a guy do tricks while skiing backwards would be incredible. Turpin is so different from everyone else cause he's the only one really working the switch pipe stuff to death. Mad props turpin.
