think about it tho...if they moved to PC they've got park city the city for urban, park city the mountain for park, snowbird, alta, the canyons...plus colorado is next door

How is it even possible to sepnd 6 million bucks on a park in 2 years? Thats a lot of cash to blow, did they put in new lifts or something, maybe ne Park Bulleys or Pipe Dragons? I really dont see how it would be possible to spend that much money on a single park.

But if it is, that is awesome. Think of the sick new features they will have. Didnt they have some sick urban stair setup their last year. Or was that some where else in Utah?

 
it costs alot of money to widen and flatten out runs that have solid rock that has to be blown up, also expansion of snowmaking and added cats are expensive, when i was there a few years ago there big park was pretty bunk

So it seems that this rumour is true. Turpin getting banned blows. I loved watching slay the park, and I learned a lot just watching him ride. Plus he's fuckin' good, and really did seem to rep Whistler pretty hard. But doing stupid things will eventually catch up to you...and hanging off a chairlift IS stupid, isn't it?

^theyre right. expanding the park/ earth moving is where the money goes. Look at it this way, this year, we spent about 3500 welding a rollercoaster. our other rails totalled about 21000. so theres 25000 grand in rails. the other 2,975,000 has to go to somethin.

ok heres the full on scoop...

he was caught hangin from the chair as stated above, and was his second time getting in trouble with the mountain this year. Earlier in the season he was skiing switch slowly carving turns and one of the speed patrol pulled him over. If you know turpin, you know he has a big mouth and he said some stuff he shouldnt of, and being on the W/B Freeride team he has to set an example. So being on probation and getting caught hanging from the chair was the straw that broke the camels back. The last thing they need are campers following suit...'if chris turpin can do that so can i!' Then a kid falls off and another lawsuit hits the mountain...just what they need after that chump sued the mountain for fucking himself up in the park.

So he only got banned for the rest of the summer unless he wrote an apology, but in that letter he basically told them what he thought and said that he didnt need the mountains shit on him so he bailed to PC for next season. I think its his ploy to spite the mountain into bringing him back, for them to appologize and take him back, but i dont think its gonna happen...he burned too many bridges with intrawest here.

And so the saga continues...

yeah turpin is the man, he started off the whole hot sauce thing and got me hooked up with tons of free shit, but anyways turpin was tellin us about the letters he was gonna write and some of it was funny shit, but i think he wrote a serious one, maybe he didnt send it or something but when i was up there he didnt say anything about going to park city, and he sounded pretty sure that his pass was going to get reinstated, but maybe not and thatll be cool if he goes to pc because i might head out there this winter

Yeah turpin wasn't to pleased this winter... the fucking speed control people took his pass away for skiing switch through a slow zone.. hw wasn't going fast or anything.. Chris skis switch just as well as he does forward.. he was not pleased at all. that kind of bullshit pissed him off and i think that is why he didn't write the letter.. it sucks cause he is a funny fucking kid to hang out with.

okay to set the records that I KNOW FOR SURE straight. Turpin got in trouble during High North 4th session because he hung off the chairlift...backwards... and some guy that works for Whistler saw him. While they were deciding on his punishment, he thought Utah would be good if he was kicked out. Shane Szocs talked to Whistler and he got banned for summer, and NOT WINTER! last i heard he will be back there. O and TANNER DIDNT BREAK HIS LEG, i saw him with my own eyes 3 days ago in Park City jumping on a tramp. He might have done it before that, but i also saw him at World Mogul skiing, this was at July 17th, so thats like 5 weeks, doubtful he broke his leg....

Ok, so Chris wasn't banned for the winter. Why he went to Park City for the winter? Who knows besides Mr. Turpin himself. I do know that he bought a sled and hopes to get some time in on that in PC and hopes for some more photos in the PC park. Burnded bridges? Not really. Dumb idea hanging upside down? Yes. Banned for the winter? No.
