Turning skis into twintips

i found a pair of old carving skis in my garage and, just for fun i want to turn them into twintips. is anyone here old school enough to remember how to do it?

No Props!

Heat the tips then bend them. The way most people did it was with a paint stripper heat gun I think. Then jam the tails uner a door and raise the tips by propping a chair under them. Rivit the tails if you can because they could delam easily.

you can put them in boiling water too, just make sure you bend them really slowly.

your steeze is like the antithesis of the gangsta-tanner-gorillasteeze junk... the type of skiing that says "Fuck groomed parks and rails, rip big mountain lines and throw backflips off everything-J.D. May

Yea, it always seemed to work best boiling the tails in water for like 10 minutes. Try that.

yeah, blowtorch dont work, it just melts the p tex, or tophsheet

jack.

so JF, are you still drinking?

no......why..........are you buying?

go to the local thrift shop, try it on some of those skis first. some of the fatter straight skis actually make solid twins.

i used a blowtorch it did melt the p tex but it dosnt realy matter because there probably shitty skis if your going to do that to them so go for it

Back in like 98 i took a pair of elan mbx and melted the tails with a heat gun, they worked..Sometimes its a bitch cause u got to crack the core......

after heating up the tails i'd put them in a crack between porch boards or whatever. make sure to rivet the tails or something or else they will fall apart
