Turning Japanese

Heading to Japan in Feb 09 to shoot and ski, used to live in Japan but never been to Hokkaido...

Keen to hit up some lesser known resorts as well as the obvious ones like Niseko, any info/advice from Japanized NSers out there would be appreciated.

Rough plan is to ski 2 - 3 weeks with my buddies then stay on for a week or two just to shoot, business and pleasure. I speak fluent Japanese and don't mind going ghetto...
Cheers, Patrick

There is only one thing i can tell you, that most of newschoolers is brimming with envy. enjoy the pow man!

Your best bets are www.snowjapan.com and our Japan regional forum. I'm thinking about doing a month or two in Japan this season if I can arrange the timing. We'll see what works out. I have a friend who just moved to Sapporo and want to see the Hakuba area as well.

A buddy who is half jap, went over last year and said he would totally move over there if he wasn't school in Canada, so sounds like your going to have a trip of a life over there on the other side of the world.

there are a bunch of guys on the TGR forum who would be able to give you great info, try making a thread there.

Speaking fluent Japanese must be such a plus. I'd love to spend a season over there but I have no idea where or even how to get started

I heard that the song turning japanese was about masterbating but on another note one of the warren millers has some sick shots of pow in japan and these gnarly trees

one word...Asahidake (sp) thats the place where every ski film Co. has gone too shoot and from my personnel experience...its nothing short of orgasmic
