turning 18 soon, 100% sure my parents are going to kick me the fuck out. . not really sure what to do with my life. im sure this has happened to other people on here, comments or advice?

My mom's doing the same thing when I turn 18. I'm fucked. I don't have any advice for you cause I'm in the same boat haha.

same thing happened to me I now live with my friend at his house I'm sure a friend can let you stay with them for a little.

yeah this, but before you do see if you can work something out with your 'rents, maybe pay a little board even, to meet them in the middle.

hope you work something out man cause that could end up being a bitch

yea, im prety sure that my life is better (im forced to go to college and get a degree before i can be a skibum) but i find it hard because i really don't like studying or college in general (in do like the parties etc., but the way you have to do exams/tasks etc really sucks) and i'm allways struggling; should i finish college first and then be a skibum at 24 and make the best of it or be a skibum now and live my best years as a skibum....
but in your case the decision was made for you: go after your dreams NOW; go for it 120% and commit to what you want to achieve; be the best skibum there is!

definitely finish school and then be a skibum for a while.
that way you have a degree to fall back on when you get older and want to start a family or something

Do it. Get everything situated with your parents beforehand, and have them help you through it. There is nothing worse than having it sprung on you with no place to go and no money.

im getting kicked out when i turn 18, and my grades are shit so i wont be able to go to college so im planning on living out of a car and skiing

You're 18. You have to grow up. Why don't you apply for college? Then you can get a job after that? I mean it makes perfect sense for your parents to want you out, so go apply for college. If you don't want to go to college...get a job?

No.But he's 18, he should probably get a job, and become prepared to live on his own. I'm not saying that the parents should full on kick him out of the house without giving him a chance to make up some ideas on his future though.

having bad grades will not stop you from going to college. There are thousands of colleges out there, and believe it or not but not all of them are made for geniuses. i guarantee you there are a hundred colleges in the US that would take you.

i have gotten arrested 2 times this summer and my parents said if i get two more, I get kicked out.. i think the third time is comin soon. i'm a junior in highschool so i have 2 years to only get arrested/any sort of trouble with cops, two times.

yea ik.. the other night was pretty dumb. my friends dad took his car (which is really nice by the way) so we took his car that had been sitting in his driveway forever out.

let me set this car up for you.

Outdated inspection

Doesnt go in reverse

has no bumper

no registration

and my friend only has his restricted junior license which means he has to drive alone to only schoo/work/schoolevent/ etc. so yea.. pretty much we have 7 kids in http://www.cargurus.com/images/2009/05/06/06/41/1998-chevrolet-blazer-4-dr-ls-4wd-suv-pic-25928.jpeg this .. 2 in front, 3 in middle and 2 just sitting in back. obviously smoking on a way to a party.

so yeaaaaa we got pulled over.. the cop was actually really chill at first. he said ok just make sure you get that inspected. we were fine about the 2 kids in the back and shit. but he asked for our registration and we didnt have any but we didnt know it at the time. so being in a hurry we threw everything we had pertaining to weed in the case and in the glove box (dumb idea i know but we were in a hurry and high). so we open it up and my friend in the passenger seat takes the case and says "oh, thats just my psp." or something like that and a cigarette falls out. so he asks to see and you can guess what happens from there.

really really stupid way to get arrested hahaha. we are all making "pacts" to not do anything stupid anymore. my group really has a problem with just throwing all cautions into the wind.

pretty much. we're all school smart and have good grades and shit but idk we just get pretty stupid when were trying to do stuff.

I really didn't wanna bust any balls in this thread, buuuut. The only thing you could have done dumber is if you parked infront of the police station. If you're gonna use a car in that condition, don't put so many people in it - automatic reason to get pulled over - and sure as hell dont smoke herb on the way. Smoking in cars is just setting yourself up for trouble, especially with a lot of people in it. Cops can be nice, but they generally arent retarded. If your parents have to put a limit on how many times you can get arrested, you seriously need to rethink what the hell you're doing. Defying authority and getting arrested really isn't cool, it's gonna make like a whooole lot more complicated.

way to give up on life, sure bumming is super sick for a few years but do you want to live out of a car when you're 60? give yourself opportunities now so you have options in the future, even if you think you don't want to take that path now
/mom talk

aahahaha

My buddy lived out of a tent for about 4 months. It sounded like it really sucked, but if that's what it comes down to, a tent is nicer than an overpass.

I lived out of a tent with my mom and brother for the summer when I was like 12. It was okay except for when it rained cause we would have to dig a trench around the uphill side of the tent so we didn't get flooded.

yeah my parents are gonna start making me pay rent soon as i turn 18 (november), so i'm tryin to save up so i can be out of here asap, me homie and i are gonna rent an apartment together.

the worst part is having buddies who are 20 and their parents just let them live at home without paying rent or nothin.

I wanted to get out of my house way before I was 18, so I saved all my money and found a cheap university to go to where rent was also really cheap and skiing is cheap. I teach skiing in the winter to supplement my income, and I have student jobs at my school as well. My parents also had a little cash saved up for my education, so that helps a lot, and I'm good at school, so that helps too. I ski every day during the winter and I still have lots of time to dow hat I like.If you are careful with your money, work hard, stay positive and make connections with lots of people, you will do fine, and probably have a lot of fun while you're at it. Helping people goes a long way. Moving far away from home forces you to be responsible.
