hey guys i was wondering if anyone knows a thing or too about turntables and mixers and stuff. i really know nothing but i think it would be fun to mess around with them.

so, anyone know some starter packages or anything? brands? models? prices?

i dont want to spend much, would 300$ get me anywhere? thanks guys.

lol 300? if you want to spend 300 then go buy a midi controller and hook it up to your PC so you can DJ using your mp3s. if you insist of not using a computer then get CDJs which is gonna cost a lot more. try like over a grand. vinyls are nice but they limit your creativity because not every song you can get on vinyl

aiight well what can you tell me about this? dj in a box. goes for 250 - 300 at different places. numark v6

"The Numark DJ In A Box V6 package contains two of Numark's acclaimed TT1610 multi-directional ultra-efficient belt-drive turntables with aluminum platters. The included DM950 2-channel + mic mixer has EQ on each channel and slider style cueing. You also get HF125 headphones, two Groove Tool cartridges and a pair of slipmats."

and anyone know if you can just plug in an auxiliary cord or w/e and plug in a ipod/mp3

like i said you can only use vinyl on those. the only way to use mp3 is to get serato for around 500 which is pointless because those decks are kinda shitty. numark makes pretty shit products at a low price range, their higher end stuff is much better. if 300 is all you got go ahead, but your gonna have to spend more and more money to buy vinyls

Lolll, You want to buy tables, but then plug in an ipod? You'd be better off getting some software for your laptop with a remote. That's what I used to use.

just buy this if you want to do mp3s,, its a numark total control

basically plugs into your computer and you can DJ using traktor. its a good starting point if you wanna learn and dont wanna spend too much.
