My first question is where is a good place to get cheap turf? Also is there anything else you can use besides turf thats slides well?

turf you can get at home depot, for pretty cheap, i bought 36' long, and 2 or 3' wide, and it was about $80.snowfence is also another possibility, it's cheaper, and faster, but you don't have that much control on it. there's also snowgel that you can put on turf, or very thin carpet, ask papasteeze about the snowgel, that's what he uses.

pretty much any big store like that, and you can't really go wrong with turf as long as your set up is good
