Turbo= huge let down

I just don't understand some of the people on here. First up the opening Japan powder segment in reasons demands a ranking higher than Turbo on its own. Unreal shots, amazing riders, inspirational music. The segment really captures skiing at its purest.

I thought Turbo was ok but not much more. Wesson was ridic, stefan thomas stood out and Tanner Rainville's segment holds up pretty much anywhere but other than that I wasn't all that impressed.

Trouble is half the people posting on here would have said exactly the same things even if they hadn't seen the movie - it's just blind support of an image and an ideal.

haha seriously, i am not sure what movies you level 1 haters are watching....both shanghai six and long story short were fucking epic, if anything i would say realtime was a little bit of an off year but turbo made up for it

No doubt, Turbo is as good as its gonna get this year. Wallish aint affraid to break away from the same old spin's and mute grabs, and Berman captured it beautifully.

you have over 7000 comments, im guessing most of them are as whiney and opinionated as this one. one tip, keep your whining to yourself it makes you sound like a child. one more thing dont knock it if you cant top it.

I agree with the first part in terms of Turbo. I thought the trailer was amazing, the song got me pumped and the footage was sick. But for me the music in the actual release really let it down. thats probably personal preference but i want a more aggressive soundtrack, that really gets you pumped to ski. The filming was amazing, and some of the tricks were fucking sick (undergrind what?!) but the way the movie flowed just didn't do it for me.

I do like it, don't get me wrong, i was just disappointed - it was completely different to what i expected after watching the trailer.

However - the pace of the film works great if you've had a toke, especially when combined with the cinematography :)

so saying that I am not going to continue spending $30 on a product that has a history of disappointing me is considered whiny (no e by the way) .

And I thought opinions were why everyone posted on here, to state and share what they all think. Or was I wrong, is the whole point to be a mindless trend happy fuck, that just likes to jump on the bandwagon as it goes by. Sorry I pissed you off, if it hurts your feelings to much, go back to kindergarten where they make sure everyone gets along. In the mean time wake the fuck up.

and secondly in response to your second post that was pretty much the same just with a little different wording then your first post.

Do you know me? have you ever skied with me? Do you even know where or what I ski on a regular basis? I highly doubt it.

And by saying don't knock it if you can't top it. are you seriously saying that no one should critique others if they can't personally do better, because if that was the case we would all still be sitting around waiting for fire to appear in our caves.

Do you think movie critics can make a better movie then the directors? No, of course not, does that mean they are not able to say if the movie is good or bad? No of course not.

Do you think the judges at sporting events are as good as the athletes who participate? No of course not, if they were they would be competing making way more money.

Do you think coaches are required to be better then the people they are training? No of course not.

Do you think you have to be a skilled engineer to say that a design sucked when the bridge fell down, No of course not.

You don't have to be the best around to know when something is flawed or not working. And often that criticism, helps people realize what they are doing is not working and that they should try and improve it.

Point is your an idiot who got their panties in a knot cause not everyone agrees with him/she.

thank you for saying that.

Ladies and Gentleman of the Jury,

allow me to present evidence #30,652, on why everyone will say the new Level 1 movie was amazing.

Their minds are made up before hand. This is a prime example of this scenario. The subject in this sample has already decided that the movie would be amazing.

Furthermore it provides additional evidence that may help to explain the mental state of these creatures (hence forth referred to as 'Jiblets'). Not only do they allow their minds to be made up before any real experience has been had, but they are so convinced that their uninformed notions are correct that they are 'pretty sure' some one who has experienced the situation and disagrees with the inexperienced subjects beliefs must be of low mental copacity.

oh and for those who have not figured it out, I am really not trying to make any friends here, although I would think that quite obvious as I tend to disagree with most of the population of this site in most of my posts.

However, I hope that by questioning what is said, I may help others think deeper about themselves. Thank you have have a nice day.

Lord of the sheep? We're talking about a ski movie here, not stem cell research.
Either way I respect your opinion, but you sound like a broken record.

I thought TURBO was sick! tom wallisch, tanner rainwille, hornbeck and harlauts sw 14 was crazy! but i think The Massive is the best movie of the year though, that was SIICK!!

Maybe you just have some scratchy, uncomfortable sand stuffed up inside of your vagina. Turbo was incredible. Second only to Get Lucky.

i figured id be getting asked this question a lot, well basically I've been working my ass off here at the office, ive known mousseau for a bunch of years and since Ive been coming into the office almost everyday during the week for the past 4 months the guys decided to make me a mod

The irony of this post is just over the top... You do bring up a number of good points, but your argument is from here on out fatally flawed.
Is it not the exact same reasons that you're knocking this poor kid that you yourself have spent so much time huffing and puffing in this thread? You tear this guy to pieces and fault him for preconceptions that are probably based on his opinions generated from watching previous Level 1 movies, but you seem to give yourself the right to hate on Turbo with a passion, also having not seen it, simply based on your opinions of past Level 1 movies. Is what's good for the goose not good for the gander?
I myself am not ordinarily a fan of Level 1, but over the past two years their movies have changed my opinion of what they bring to the table.
Hate on the editing, soundtrack, and all the purely subjective things if you will, but you cannot argue that these films are providing the ski community with the best urban, best park, deepest pow (yes, I said it), and backcountry jumps and tech lines that hold a candle to anything in any other ski film on the market. I won't expect to see Sage and Seth shredding AK in a Level 1 movie, but thats not why I would pick one up in the first place... and goddamn, the crew that they did put together for their attempt at Big Mountain this year was probably a good taste of the kids that will be ruling it over the coming years, and needless to say they did a respectable job with it.
Stop spewing prophetic hate and get a clue.

I never gave myself that right, nor did I hate on the movie, I just stated that it would be understandable for someone to be disappointed by level 1 movies. Nor did insult other people who saw the movie from thinking that it was good. I would love for Turbo to change my recent view on Level 1. I would really like to see the movies go back to what they were with forward and high 5. I really would, my wallet probably would not, but I would. If I do get the chance to see Turbo, I would love for it to blow my mind and be everything that it is hyped up to be. I am just too used to being disappointed affter hearing great reviews on NS, to spend $30 on it with out any evidence of my own.

i didnt like reasons that much

ski porn was soo good and i think they should have kept with the park/ back country jumps...not all bc

turbo was so sweet

it brought so many new names onto the table

yay for level 1

alright heres what i think. if you dont like extreme bangers such as hornbeck, wallish and ahmet, and you like pussy back country and handrails striaght, journal is what you should spend your money on. Turbo as i see it was god, journal was a grain of sand.....start hatin

i think the valuable lesson we can all learn from this is

YOUR OPINION IS WRONG

say why you liked a movie. say why you didnt. but just because they didnt doesnt mean they are a moron.

he's only defending himself because all the thirteen year olds with hard ons for level 1 are shitting themselves that he has his own opinion and isnt just jumping on the bandwagon because NS says he should. This thread is definitely a strong indicator of everything that's wrong with this site sometimes.
