Tuning your own skis

Is there a way you can sharpen your own edges without any special tools at home? I'm going to be doing it to my shitty skis, but I need edges for a QP comp. Even if it's bad for your skis, I don't really care.. so even if it's a short term solution that would be perfect.

I play hockey and I know for a fact they sell stones for sharpening skates, so you might want to check out a store that sells hockey stuff.

yea pretty much you can fuck up your edges really bad if you use a file barehanded with no guide or whatever. just go to ur local shop and pick up a edge tuner.

Go to the store and get a cheap hand edge tuner, they are like 20-40 bucks. They take care of the sidewall really well, and then just get a file and wrap the handle end of it with duct tape 3 times over, and that is approx. the 1-2 degrees you need on the bottom edge...the bottom is less important though and takes less precision just for a clean-up job, so I would get the tuner for the sides.

Also, get a gum rock just for cleaning up the edges when they get all ripped up.
