Tune Ups & Waxing

I'm starting to wax and tune up my own skis and I need some help putting together a kit. Any Ideas?????

wax, iron, scraper, brilo pads, stone...that's pretty much all you need for doing wax and sharpening. unless you know what you're doing, i wouldn't suggest messing with ptex or anything else

i use swix products and they work great for me...something really helpful is the little sheat that tells u what color u use for what temperature and type of snow

ptex is easy make sure you know what your doing when it comes to sharpening edges u need to know were to detune and shit

bevel, side egde tuner, gummy stone, diamond stone, mutiple sized files, special sauce (its a cleaner) brilo pads. the beast system is ok, i like sun valley tuners better.

i have one of the kits from ski werks and then i got a swix iron and toko wax, but its farley easy to tune you own skis.

dont bother buying bevels, files and stuff for edge sharpening unless you race, because its pretty expensive, so get a pocket diamond stone and it should do you the trick. Waxing on the other hand costs almost nothing and is a piece of cake, so i'd recommend it for everybody. And don't buy a toko iron that costs like 50 bucks, an old iron preferably without holes does the trick very well.

^for edges it probably comes cheaper to get them sharpened once a year

im on the school race team so the school gives us wax and bevels and everything, its pretty sweet.

if your only tuning freestyle skis get cheap stuff. make sure you use the good type of wax for the good temperature.
