hence why noone in this thread has picked a day for sure. its also a 6 hour drive and i have school/work mon-friday, so im shooting for that weekend.
 
did you read the thread? the first thing he said was that he is going the 25th of april, which is more than a month away. and honestly, if he is so naive, that he just picks a random date more than a month away, he shouldn't be going at all. tuckerman (without the s) is some serious shit and you have to know what you are doing. numerous people have died there.

The end of April is usually pretty safe and it's fair to plan on going up April 25th. Last year there was record late season snow and the first big weekend was April 19th. Extremely low slide risk. People were tubing down the headwall.

Serious shit is a relative phrase. Lots of people make Tucks out to be far more extreme than it really is. I wouldn't take a beginner there, but I'd take park rats w/terrible technique.
 
you fall, hit rocks, die. but on a brighter note. if you plan to stay somewhere like the joe dodge lodge, you need to make reservations and you can change them once. no refunds so sometimes you have to pick a random day and go for it
 
avis, one time and ice boulder fell and killed someone, and i know of one person who fell into a crevassce (sp?) and died
