i might be coming up to ski tucks on memorial day weekend, i know they have TONS of snow there, but what is the skiing like and weather usually like that time of year, can u ski down on the trail or do u have to downclimb, any help would be appreciated, thanks

tucks is rad, i was there this weekend. it was a fucking adventure, bring some crampons because the hike up and down is really slick (falling with a heavy ass pack and skis on your back sucks.)

the bowl looked pretty icy and super sketchy, and you have to hike out for about a 1/2 mile before you get back to the sherburne ski trail that only takes you about 1/3 of the way down.

hillman's highway was awesome, tons of snow, slick as shit so don't fall! you can ski straight out of hillman's and onto sherburne at the end of the day.

and whoever posted about building kickers at tucks is an idiot.

^ keep an eye on the avy report (linked from timefortuckerman.com) because it also includes weather forecasting and snow conditions. apparently the whole area iced up like crazy on sunday and you would need an ice axe and crampons to get up the bowl. scary.

i was just up there and you couldnt ski down the trail and the snow on the trail wasnt too big of a problem

^i was there sunday and i skied down about 25% of the trail , just dont bring skis u care about cause you have to bomb past a couple bare spots
