what will the best time be this year to hike Tux? Will it still be hittable in mid-late May?

i went during the middle of march last year when the avi conditions were good and it was way better than when i went in late april because there was powder instead of wet, heavy snow.

i never hit it before, but i have seen people wreck themselves going off it. when you fall on a slope that steep, you dont stop for a few hundred feet.

it doesn't seem like anyone's been keeping track of the avy forecast on here. tuckermans has gone through a shitload of freeze-thaw cycles in the last week and it's expected to continue. they're expecting bulletproof faces and corn snow this weekend.

save yourself the trouble and keep up on the advisory. you don't wanna get up there and find garbage snow.

Break out the beach chairs and sunblock. We have a very nice stretch of weather for the foreseeable future. Sunny skies and the warmest temperatures we have had this season will be sure to provide some sloppy spring conditions over the next few days. While sunburn, heat exhaustion and snow blindness are considerations today, there are some bigger issues you need to be aware of.

last year my dad and me went up to tux on july 7th and it was nasty. there was three lines that were ski-able and it was sick.
