Officially announcing retirement after almost a decade of professional skiing. Thanks to all of the coaches, PT's, friends, family, sponsors, and competitors who have made it all possible. I wish everyone the best of luck this year. Go USA!

Always seemed like a chill, hard working dude and an awesome skier in the pipe.

It's a shame that most of the tall tee, rastafarian, NS 14 year olds had to always hate on him for being "too much of a sell out." Dude worked hard and started to get paid for doing what he loved, nothing wrong with that.

Good luck in whatever else you do, man.
 
No doubt that he killed it but it was weird as fuck when he signed with Ralph Lauren, he didn't wear that for long haha
 
Wonder what's next for him.

Sidenote: If pipe skiing had less tucker perkins and more joffrey pollet-villard it would be wildly more entertaining to me.

Actually Shaun White is a Snowboarder, which you probably know but I'm just informing you since I was quoted as being a better SKIER.

Shaun has DONE douche things in the past. What has tucker done besides be sponsored by some clothing brands that don't make tall tees?

I want to know where the hate is coming from. If you're going to hate on a dude at least have a legit reason.

Then again NS loves how ignorant THALL rants so I don't expect any sort of social coherency.
 
Loving Thall rants comes from the same place disliking tucker comes from.

Thall speaks his mind on whats wack in the industry; green screens, hair commercials, irrelevant sponsors, etc.

The reason Tucker gets more of the hate than others, is that he doesnt put out a quality product for the sport, but rather is a huge comp guy who even in comps doesnt do anything that interesting or has any kind of trademark to his skiing at all. I know him more for his hair then his skiing, I had to google search his x games run because it was totally forgettable.
 
Good is right.

Although, I can appreciate that he's actually announcing his retirement. Most pros never take that step and slowly fade away by doing less and less each year. I wish more pros would announce that they won't compete/film anymore.
 
Whatever the assholes in this thread say, Tucker was very good and he did bring something different to skiing. Clearly thats why you guys didn't like him. For such a group of people that claim to love the free part of free skiing, your view of what is acceptable and what is not is very narrow.

That having been said, why now? He has been training all summer on his private backyard setup, clearly with the olympics in mind and no matter what, he had a good shot at making the team. I gotta say that if he didn't get hurt, I gotta wonder if he tested positive for roids. Seeing as he is jacked and, according to his twitter, got tested on October 8th, the timeline matches up.

I have no information to support this but the sudden nature of the decision after he put in all this work makes me curious. Maybe Dumont is next.

Tucker worked his ass off so he wouldn't have to live on a fishing boat and hate on other kids on the internet in his spare time. Lets all pretend Logan Imlach is so good he turns down commercial offers on the daily so he can be at one with the ocean for months at a time. I bet Tucker is so jealous of you

There's one thing worse than 14 year old NSers shitting on pro skiers, and that's fellow "pro" skiers hating on them. Only on NS would a kid like Logan Imlach be praised just because of an orange name. Sucks how these Level 1 skiers are doing this shit…kinda detracts from the film company name.

Also, when in the fuck did I become a pro skier? Are you getting my pay checks or something? Because I sure as fuck am not. I'm just another jackass on the Internet with an opinion, and have been long before NS decided to change the color of my sign in name. Suck it up you fucking crybaby.
 
I'm curious as to why? Pipe skiing's all about the comps and he's prequalified into the grand prix this season. I wonder if it has to do with the olympics being this year or for some unknown personal reason or just coincidentally decided nows when he wants to be done. If I were ever a pro retiring I wouldn't announce it, I'd pull the colby west and try to milk that shit for a few more years while pursuing other things

he must have got hurt or something, why would a dude sponsored by like Paul Mitchell and Ralph Lauren just give up especially this close to the Olympics. I would "KILL" for his kind of endorsements..
