^ They couldn't of had one for the earth quake, but there was a system of warning about tsunamis in place but that part where the wave hit, they wheren't a part of this warning system. Could have saved an unaccountable amount of lives.

as for warning systems, earthquakes arent exactly predictable, however, the tsunamis should have had a warning, but most of the areas didnt for some some reason...

im pretty sure the biggest death toll ever recorded was from the bacteria Yersinia pestis (the black death) passed around to humans by fleas in the 13th to the 16th century. it killed 25 million people in Europe alone.

Apperently they knew an earthquake was coming but they didnt realize it would become a sunami, the sunami usually doesnt happen like that but it did because the fault was a special kind, and that kind of fault pretty much made a wall and pushed the ocean. If u were there, the scary thing was that the ocean like vanished, and the docks were empty just before it hit.
