I made none of the things In my arguments up. if the reason you are calling me an idiot is because you do not beleive me just post whatever you dont beleive and I will site some sources which you can beleive or not but they do not come from the top of my head.

so just tell me what you need cleared up and I will give you the source.

as for me not beleiving in second hand smoking causing all those deaths its the same thing as global warming you will find some sources saying it is fact others saying it is fiction

everyones an idiot in this case. big tobacco companies are bullshit and should go out of buisness, but on the other hand, if your stupid enough to smoke a sig, you can die and its not gonna be a big suprise. the deal here is it is cheaper for the goverment to pay for commercials to tell people not to smoke then pay for madicare and all that shit for them. people should be able to smoke a sig if they want. smaller natural cig companies arnt nearly as bad. they dont have fiberglass and chemicals that make you more addicted but are bad for you in them.

as for the Mcdonalds remark I have sited my source it was the documentary made by Morgan Spurlock where he eats Mcdonalds for a whole month (not eating anything other than Mcdonalds) during this expirement he is closely followed by a group of doctors and during a segment a doctor points out that his body is reacting to the Mcdonalds the same way an addicts body reacts to the drug they are addicted too. as for me not beleiving the Truth campaigns claim that 53,000 people die of Lung cancer this is meirly a personal opinion I dont see how anyone can acuratly determine that these people are dying of second hand smoke. although I beleive that some of these may be related to second hand smoking other factors do exist smoking is not the only thing that causes lung cancer

as for my last coment about Smog being worst than second hand smoke I was saying that from personal experience in the places I have lived in (Paris,LA,NY) Smogg is everywhere all the time and I have been exposed to smogg much more and much longer than cigarette smoke.smogg levels are diferent in Otowa and I have never lived there so I dont know how bad public smoking is there. Im sorry for making a general statement for this as there are too many factors to give any proof for either argument which was my point that too many factors are out there to write off a death to a specific thing

 
he did not become mentally addicted, he became physically dependant, thats what the 'withdrawl' signs were. His liver and other organs had addapted to processing the crap he was eating.

Cigs have chemicals in the mthat can be traced i nthe tissue of the lung and blood stream. These chemicals are not found in high amounts in the atmosphere. That is how they know if someone died prematurely from second hand smoke or smoking. Of course there are other factors that cause cancer, but smoking is the number one cause of lung cancer in North America, by far.

as for my last coment I was overgeneralizing and I should not have and I apologize I do not know how it is in your area and smogg is different from place to place there are too many factors for me to say that smogg is worst than second hand smoke but that was the point I was trying to make, there are just too many facors to say that this one person died of such and such. so making a statement in any 1 way could be wrong.

And as an aside, someone earlier say that alcohol is not physicaly addicting, and that is a fallacy. Alchohol is physicaly addicding, so is niccoteen and even charbohydtates.

Also, there is nothing i hate more than having to breath in someone elses used smoke. its disgusting and i hate the smell. It actually makes me cough. I cant wait till quebec passes a no smoking law for bars and resturants.

it would be fantastic if you could find it in your hear to forgive the TRUTH company for informing the public of the horrors of smoking. you argue that customers knew what they were getting into, well most of them did, but didnt the tobacco companies ALSO know what they were getting into? the know theyre products kill 440,000 people a year in the US, yet they keep on advertising with utter disregard for their customer and their loved ones.

I think some of you think I am arguing that Tobacco is good or that people should smoke. I am in no way saying that. I am saying that smoking is bad everybody has known it for decades yet still want to do it. I am anoyed at Truth for not telling the Truth they give statistics that would be impossible to find as fact. I am all for people pushing their agendas but I hate it when people lie to push their agendas because they think that their cause is just. I agree with truth (and every other person in the world) that smoking is bad the same way I agree with some issues that michael Moore on alot of issues but the way both of these 'fact bringers' operate is what I dont agree with

 
You know what, after the age of 14 or 15, when kids usually start to smoke, you are the only person responsible for your choices. Make these choices, regret them, but do not complain. This truth thing is not so influent on people because its been said many and many times, and unless your a dumbass and don't know what a cigarette is before you smoke it, you cant be ignorant enough not to know that smoking screws up your lungs. However, the 'schocking' images of these adds might have an effect on younger kids, and I think thats the only positive effect of this campaign...

i liked the truth ads in freeze. they were pretty funny. anyone who smokes is a dumbass. i also like the stupid.ca commercials that show in canada. theres one where this chick starts rolling in a pile of dog shit, then says 'y would anyone wanna smell like crap? 30 000 teens in ontario do everyday.'

or theres another one wher this kid is running through the woods with antlers on and say 'ya, its stupid running through the woods in the middle of hunting season.'

or a kid is standing on a ledge, and says 'if we beleive evrything we see in movies, i should be able to jump off this 20 story building, land in that dumpster and walk away, right?'

or one more wher ea kid starts pouring drain-o into his cereal and says 'seems stupid, but this is only like 30 chemicals. cigartettes contain this amount of chemicals. '
