Truth about Look and Rossignol

Ok, im going to straighten this out for the last time. Dynastar and Rossignol are two different companies. They are owned by the same corporate company, just like ABC, Disney, and ESPN are all owned by the same corporate company.

Look, Lange and Kerma are owned by Dynastar, but have their own names for legal and financial issues, just like Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury.

Look and Rossignol bindings are the exact same, with the exception of graphics. This simply saves costs, and allows both companies to advertise the same technology.

You may have heard different, but you heard wrong. I got this information from Sacha Gros, US Ski Team Downhill Racer. He was sponsored by Rossignol, but hated the skis. SO, pulling some strings he rode the Dynastar ski with a Rossignol topsheet.

To add, Rossi poles are just Kerma poles with Rossi graphics. The boots and skis are different but both pressed in France, ACROSS THE STREET FROM EACH OTHER!

Hopefully this clears things up for ya.

Yeah, not to sounds cocky but most people have know this for a long time. Rossignol and Dynastar design there skis seperately but they are all made in a Rossignol Factory. As for the bindings when Rossi started out with bindinds all they did was change the graphics on the Looks, otherwise they are the exact same.

If you look at any of the Rossi/Look binding threads there are obviously alot of people that don't know the whole story. I knew the basics of the relationship, and it was time someone cleared it all up cause it was starting to piss everyone off, me included.

yeah, i thought it was kinda obvious too but, meh. it happens a lot in cycling too if one guy doesn't like a certain frame, he'll get another company's blank frame and have them paint and detail it so it looks like the team brand.

elan mainly makes saleboats and gymansium equipement. skiing is only 10 % of their buisness.

Nordica is owned by benetton. like prince and rollerblade. the beneton familly is know for their implication in oil fields and well clothing. skiing represents a bit less the 1 % of their buisness

Dude le Ski bum...Nordica is owned by Tecnica, not Bennetton...just happened a few months ago, so you were half correct, and it's Montebello, Italy...Karhu did not invent the Look/Rossi binding, but Dave Dodge, the inventor of the Line binding worked for Look before he worked for Burton, and ultimately as a contractor for Line...and lastly, Karhu doesn't own Line, they own a percentage of Line...Jason Levinthal still maintains a large proportion of ownership...other than that, good info
