Interesting, thanks for the honest response. How do you wrap your head around and justify all the...other stuff. Personally I understand the justification of being the most competent nominee but for me personally he crossed that line about 2 years ago

More jobs, more middle class/small business tax cuts, more US based sustainable economics, less welfare incentives and less government regulation.

I read too much Orwell growing up and have spent enough time in CA to know that a liberal/progressive style of government is not for me.

I don’t mind listening to people that want to factually explain why they don’t like him or want to vote against him. I mean, my sister is a lesbian who voted for Bernie and we both appreciate each other the same because we share a mutual respect of choice. I’m solely triggered by individuals that force their views on others only to lash out on anyone that doesn’t agree. I justify liking trump for what he has accomplished in office, not what he says.

Thats fair. I feel like his policies in his first 2 years weren't the end of the world like people made it out to be. At the same time I personally weigh how the president is as a representative of the u.s. and his policies pretty equally, which is why I am pretty anit trump. I think he has done more than a poor job representing us as a country. For me it's how he treats the military and how he acts in general. If a 20-year-old college student should be expected to act professionally the president should as well.

Was that before or after he said “Arabs like to bomb crap and live in open sewage” and claimed that “Judeo-Christian values” were a thing that existed for more than, if you’re generous, 50 years?

I'm a fan of Orwell as well. What troubles me about Trump and the Republicans right now is that they are the ones saying 2+2=5, changing their version of events as they see fit, and right out in the open. They claim to be the party of small government, but are fine with giving billions in taxes to corporations, and spending trillions on the military, as well as having a militarized police force that is above the law and can do whatever they want to the private citizen with no consequences. What Trump has done is create as much hatred and fear toward the liberals as possible. The conservative media cherry picks the most insane liberals to show and has convinced the conservatives that they must be destroyed at all costs. You are a rare person in that you, as a Trump voter, don't see liberals a a subuman filth that must be exterminated. I have actually talked to these people in the flesh, pretending to be a Trump supporter myself, and when they got comfortable with me they started saying shit like "I'd kill all them faggots, women aren't as smart as men, Blacks and Mexicans are all lazy and dirty etc...". I mean seriously, if you only watch Fox news, praegerU, Ben Shapiro and read Trump's tweets you'd think it's about time to grab the gun and go start hunting libs. I think the issue is there are not enough free thinkers in America today. If you want to become the most powerful, all you have to do is tailor what each person sees through their media sources (the internet, TV, newspaper, etc...) in order to change their perception in the way you want. The majority are sheep. Yes, liberals shot themselves in the foot with identity politics. I don't agree with the way every minor thing Trump does is reported on. But I'm willing to hold my nose and vote against him because of the hatred, division, and misinformation/information firehose he cultivates. I fear America is too far gone now though. The Democrats are retarded, but the Republicans are only in it for themselves and the consolidation of wealth and power. I just want to live my life free and there to be wilderness left for me to die in, miles away from any sign of humanity.

Walking talking memes exist on both sides of the fence. I don't think it's fair to say the media only covers extreme cases and then you mention extreme cases of the right wing. Whether or not the kooks are gaining numbers on the moderates, I have no idea. But I do know the extreme cases often have the loudest opinions and it is easy to assume they speak for everyone.

Meh. The internet is slowly turning the country towards atlas shrugged levels of libertarianism.

reason wins on the internet much more than idealism.

Running a socialist welfare state is like trying to run a human body with a 150 pound cancerous tumor on its ass thats stealing the blood supply from the brain to the point the human loses consciousness and dies.

socialism is not “more caring” than conservatism, bc socialism usually ends in default and starvation.

you need to maximize a societys efficiency in order to have the most ppl live the most enriched lives. And the free market commits genocide against socialism when it comes to maximizing efficiency.

I’m ok with libertarianism. What about the “tumor” of poorly run companies that should’ve died but we keep bailing them out with billions of taxpayer dollars so they know they never need sound business practices? What about our largest socialist institution, the military, which like half of taxpayer dollars go towards?

People are willing to bitch and moan when a relatively tiny amount of money is put into welfare for the poor, but we run a welfare state for our inept CEO’s that costs orders of magnitude more.

Regardless, where do you draw the line though? Genuinely curious. Should there be any government at all? Just for Roads, dams, water etc? Military, police? Court system? Currency?

Implying libertarianism isn’t idealistic as fuck is a bold take.

Trump supporters are in a cult. They are

hopelessly brainwashed and incapable of seeing their own double

standards and blindingly obvious hypocrisy.

Their devotion to Trump is unshakable. He can do no wrong. He is perfect in every way. He

defines perfection. Even his lies are perfect...so perfect in fact that

they can’t be lies, so they must be the truth.

Trump Cultists are experts at mental gymnastics, goalpost shifting, and straight up

lying. They do it all day, everyday. And they have to. He forces them

to. There is no other way to continue supporting this “person” without

shame, embarrassment, and admission of wrongdoing in the form of voting

for him. And since Trump supporters are in a cult and their entire

self worth is derived from worshiping Donald fucking Trump, they cannot

admit to themselves that he is a malignant narcissistic liar and a

traitorous criminal who tried to rig the next election in his favor

(Ukraine) because their world would come crumbling down and they might

be forced to kill themselves or worse...admit they were wrong about

something (gasp!)

So they BUT HILLARY and OBAMAGATE and LOL LIBS

and PIZZAGATE and ALTERNATIVE FACTS and BILL GATES and QANON and

LIBTEARS their way through this objective and inarguably disaster of a

presidency, lying the entire time, to themselves as well as everyone

else, in order to save face. Save big, stupid, lying, unprincipled face.

All for Donald fucking Trump. Pathetic.
