True center?

got some volkl walls mounted with some jesters. a friend of mine seems to think they were mounted a little forward but they seem okay to me. Is there a way to tell without taking the bindings out and measuring all over again?

Is there no mounting lines on your skis? If not, then I guess you could take it back into a shop and make them double check...

the mark just says volkl freestyle reference, but thats on the graphic, you should never go by the graphic because each ski could be different. My buddy who is a ski tech is saying that if you boot the boots in the skis and put them together standing with one ski upside down, then the boots should line up exactly.

If they dont line up completely, but are very close then they are most likely core centre. Not true centre

core center is the thickest part of the core. usually a bit back from true center unless the ski is symetrical. true center is exactly the middle of the ski, for example 90 cm from the tip and tail on a 180 cm ski

Ya, but 2cm is definitely not just slightly off. You probably wont notice much of a difference tho.

The center mark on the walls unlike other brands is true center cause it's a symmetrical ski.Skis arn't different lenghts, and if they are it's not going to be that much that you should worrying about.Relax and ski them there great skis.

This is exactly right. If there is a 2 cm difference thenthey were probably mounted 1cm from center. The skis are the same length. 1cm probably won't make that much of a difference to be honest and it's definitely not worth getting them remounted

If you notice a difference it will not affect your skiing and after a day or two I doubt you'll notice either way.

A shop mounted my skis like a bunch of retards and the binding pulled out halfway through the season. They screwed it up really badly so long story short I took them to another shop to get them remounted and now my skis are mounted like 2 cm different (due to complications, it was the best the shop could do). It's noticeable if I'm looking at them, but I cant tell when I ski.

Yer fine breh.

The only reason i replied to this thread is cause ive mounted 4 pairs of walls before without a jig so i know exactly what your talking about. Talking about full tilts, it says you made a thread asking what bindings work with full tilt boots????

I was just trying to help but if your going to act like a looser that's fine.

Also i noticed my karma droped. Wow.

way to know if there true center

put the bottoms together but put one upsidedown, if the lines line up thenn u know its true center

Well the mount sounds questionable.

A small difference in the mount along the length is negligable and acceptable.

A difference in the aligment along the width is not. That should not happen if they were mounted properly. It is not an extremely technical task to mount bindings, especially with the plethora of jigs available these days. The bindings need to be in the middle on the board, if they are obviously out of whack then the mount is out of whack and you should raise some hell (politely of course...mmm maybe raise some heck...to be safe) at the shop.
