True center vs core center

I saw heaps of threads on this but none said what the difference was. If you center mount your skis is that core or true center? also when someone says center is +7.5 is that inches or CM?

+12 is dead center, +7.5 is core center.

I'm not sure, but I believe that true center refers to mounting your bindings at the geometric midpoint of the skis (i.e. the distance from tip to binding = the distance from tail to binding.) I've never heard the term core center, but I would imagine that means the point of the ski where the binding is supposed to be mounted to utilize the intended flex pattern.

center mounting usually refers to core center. true center is when the boot and bindings are in the exact middle of the ski, meaning the same amount of tip and tail. core center is the center of the sidecut or something, not too sure about this one, but it's not true center. all measurements are in centimeters.

I guess I was wrong about core center, but I don't think you can quantify these things as all skis do not have the same shape/make up.

if i told my ski shop to center mount my skis(fuji) they will assume its core center(+7.5) not true center right(+12cm)?

if you want them core center, then just tell them +7.5 because there is a grid on the side of the ski

core center is the thickest point on the ski, i.e. place where your binding mount will be strongest. true center is distance center, i.e. dead center lengthwise on the ski. on some skis, they can be the same place, like on next years invaders, which are intended to be center mounted.
