TROY NY NEEDS YOUR VOTE !

Hey everyone ! The city of downtown Troy, NY is in the running for a $250,000 grant to help revitalize and improve the city. The city itself could really use this money to not only help the people who live and work there, but also to provide a safer and all around more fun college-town for the students. In addition, this would bring in hundreds of new jobs, stores, restaurants, etc, as well as engage the student population of RPI with Troy.

We are currently 18th in the running and would love everyones help to just VOTE ONCE A DAY until January 31st !

kinda got a point. the whole albany area is a string of shitty towns. western NY is where its at
 
I voted, because Troy is a fucking shithole. $250,000 is not going to do anything though.

Seriously, Troy is worse than Newark.
 
troy has a popeyes chicken so that's cool. I drive through there to get to mount snow so that's cool I guess. Rev hall closed down so that sucks.

lYess I go to RPI! I would LOVE if Troy became a fun college town, and also provide more jobs and a better, safer atmosphere for everyone. The history here has been lost over the years and there is SO MUCH potential in this small, historic town. Plus the economy sure could use a boost.

Also, please do not use this thread to bash Troy or make rude comments about this part of NY and the areas surrounding it. Obviously if Troy was a thriving town it would not be in the running for this grant.

The only city worse than Troy is Newburgh or Amsterdam. Troy fucking sucks, it could be a sunny day and still seem gloomy driving through south Troy.
 
voted but troy needs way more than $250k to clean it up and make it safer. then again, isnt that what people pay taxes for? who knows.
