Trouble With Rossignol Axial2 120's

Hello everyone

I have some issues with my Rossignol Axial2 120's which is that they keep releasing on take off when I'm trying to do big off axis spins. So when I'm spinning hard to do a large corked rotation it feels like I spin out of the binding, the toe piece releases me sideways out. It's not just a one off either it happens quite a lot. Aside from this issue of releasing on take off when going for corked spins I don't have any other issues with them.

I'm 5'7 and 65kg, I've got the DIN set to 8 (don't want to go any higher than this) and the forward pressure is set perfectly (half black, half yellow). There is no major wear on the bindings they look to be in good condition aside from cosmetic scratching and no parts are missing. I also ski in a size 24.5 boot if this makes any difference.

Any ideas on what is causing my toe piece to release sideways out when trying big spins off jumps?

Thanks

I would suggest forward pressure....

(Aware you said it's set, hence the hesitation.)

What kind of shape are the boots in? Is there any wear on the front of them?

This is what I would look at. It sounds as though you have them set correctly so how old are your boots? Do you have the option to get new heel and toe pieces put on?

crank the dins, crank the music.. and your good to go. on a serious note, i personally think if youre doing 'off axis spins' your dins should be higher so your skis dont freaking fly off in the air.

Boot are pretty much brand new. Less than 2 months old so there is zero wear on them at all. It was happening with my old boots as well so I know it's not an issue with the boots.

if everything you say is correct. then you either need to tighten that din or accept pre releasing.

also, sounds like you are spinning before popping

Might just buy new bindings.

I was thinking either STH2 13 or FKS/Pivot 14's. The only thing I'm worried about with the Pivots is beecause they have the same toe piece as the Axial will I experience the same releasing issues as I am having now?

Pivot 18's will be too much binding for me and are too expensive.

Not once have my STH2 13s come off when I didn't want them to. Such a nice solid binding.
