Trouble with I-pod

my iTunes wont write any more songs onto the iPod and i cant get it to work

it keeps saying error on file and i just cant fix it any help?
 
does it sat corrupt file iTunes.exe? because that's what mine said the other day. now whenever i plug it in the comp, it tells me i have to shut down the computer so i cant fix it now. and some of my albums wont play, it'll just skip through the songs really fast. long story short im going to circuit city and getting a new one soon. hopefully i get the ipod color photo one. i have a 3rd gen right now
 
Twix, I used to get that error on mine. There are fixes out there for that if you search google.

type in "ipod and then whatever the error message is" and you'll find solutions. I know I had to go into DOS to fix it.

In the end I just refomatted it to use it on my Mac and haven't had problems since. It's a windows file that gets corrupted and won't work.
 
you can use the ipod update from apple.com and see if that helps.

It may be a fatal error though, in which case I hope the warranty is still good.
 
The update doesn't remove the error if its the .exe ones.

I think the fix was on hackaday.com somewhere.
