Trips in the pipe?

I think it will happen because the sport is always progressing, and people less than 10 years ago thought dubs on jumps were impossible, so progression happens at a crazy rate. I dont think we will see them next season, but they will happen eventually

Considering that not as many people ski pipe and that switch dubs aren't being landed yet(to my knowledge, I know a few people are close) I don't think that we will see trips for at least 2 or 3 seasons. I can only guess it will be like that double lincoln loop thing with an extra flip. If the olympics come in 2014 then well probably see trips before then. I kind of hope the olympics will make a mandatory air in the run and then people can make that air a lot cooler by making it a switch air.

i really don't think they are hardly possible, the way that most dubs are hucked in the pipe right now i don't see them ever becoming a part of pipe skiing aside from maybe being thrown once in a summer pipe or something, but definitely not part of competition. I think it'd be interesting though to see what rolland or bertoni or jossi or any of the pipe masters would say in an interview about the possibility of a pipe triple. If anything a snowboarder will probably get it first, but unless the walls get bigger or the balls get bigger i don't see it

hahaha, I have a feeling this will get bumped in a few years and people will laugh about everyone naysaying the idea.
and didn't Jossi landed a switch double corked something not too long ago?

I wanna say yes. But i think only if it becomes an olympic sport. Then i think you will see many people who really only ski pipe. Imnot saying this will happen soon but maybe in the distant future. IM probabaly dead wrong tho

nope. idk if youd get enough air time. look at sammys trip, 110' jump and he got it around just in time. you cant really get dramatically more air time in the pipe like that.

not gonna happen.. unless you go like 30 feet out.. and if you do ... lets hope you dont land on your head.. its possible.. but it would be soo fukin ugly..

anyone who says there NOT going to happen is crazy. they will happen, seatons gots the switch dubs and the french guys are killin harder than anyone with dub corks both ways and some crazy aly oop shit.

if skiing is going to be in the olympics in 2014 then they'll happen 2 seasons from now, if its not then maybe 3 or 4

You would need to go ridiculously large to do it. Probably world record height, and I don't see anyone being dumb enough to do the first triple 40 feet out of a pipe. At least, not right now.

it probably will, i mean look at the progression to triples on jumps happened. probably just will take a whole lot longer as there are less people skiing in the pipe in comparision to jumps, but if it became an olympic sport i think progression will happen fast

maybe in like 5 years

but it probally wont be done by tanner maybe simon though just becuase hes way younger and has more skiing in him

most of thepipe skiers barely have time to huck double corks. I doubt they will happen anytime soon, unless someone builds a huge pipe with walls like 30ft high. And someone needs to be ballsy enough to go upside down three times while going 30ft + up and probably 30 ft down the pipe.

i dont think it will happen in comp. not enough speed with 4 or 5 other tricks in there.

It may happen if a pro just sets up for one huge huck out of the pipe. and on that has anyone ever tried a trip in a quarter pipe? there it would def be possible.

Please don't ever post this in a thread about triples again. The incredible stupidity needed to make such a dumb, uninformed post completely eludes me, so I will try to interpret it as best I can so that I may explain how much of a fucking idiot you are.

Have you ever seen Cusson's first ever switch 7? Have you ever seen some of the early doubles? They were ugly as fuck, so hucked, and did not look good in any way. Now they're one of the best looking tricks in skiing when done properly.

What I'm trying to say is that NO trick will look good when it is first being done. It doesn't happen. It takes time, and then people start figuring it out. The same thing happened when doubles started, when people started doing 12s and 14s, and its happening again with triples. Why? I don't know, but people like you should have learned by now.
