Trippy Movies

I was looking through Netflix for kids with my little niece today when I came across the live action version of Alice in Wonder Land with Martin Short as the mad hatter, Gene Wilder as the turtle, Whoopi Goldberg as the Cheshire Cat, Alan Rickman as the wise hookah smoking Catterpillar and the girl from Napolean Dynamite as Allice which reminded me of some good times we had in the dorms after we ate some "veggies" this one was one of the best. What do you guys think are the trippiest movies you'e seen?

1. Labryth 2. AiWL 3. Mirror Mask 4. Fear and Loathing 5. Never Ending Story just to name a few...

Yeah I forgot about Yellow Sub, it definately belongs on the list. Anything from Kubrick could be on there, Donnie Darko and Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (the one with Gene Wilder). It's funny that Johnny Depp re-made Willy Wonka and Alice in Wonder Land and didn't even come close to being as creepy as Wilder or Martin Short although he tried reeeeeallllly hard!

Existenz was pretty weird (possibly spelled that incorrectly..)

also, not pure downright trippy trippy, but the Narnia films and Avatar put me in a weird place

Have't seen them since I was a young lad but I remember the Never Ending story movies being pretty trippy. Plus Ernest Scared Stupid gave me nightmares...

Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas

Just look at the cover

and I'm pretty sure Johnny Depp has a cig in his mouth for 99% of the movie

2001: A Space Odyssey really fucking blows your mind and I guess it gets trippy towards the end, i think Kubrick was on acid when he thought of that movie.

Waking Life, 28 Days Later, A Clockwork Orange, Coraline, Harry Potter, Princess Mononoke, The Animatrix, The Land Before Time

Isn't Waking Life an animated film about lucid dreaming?

And its been said twice but Enter the Void. If you watch it high you'll be doubly mind-blown and probably be like "what the fuck is going on and what am I watching"

Also if you are prone to epileptic seizures than the beginning is probably not for you.

yeah it's more of a mental trip than a visual one but the visuals definitely add to it, especially if you're high.

Donnie Darko blew my mind, I sat on the couch for 10 minutes just processing what I just processing what I just saw and when I read the explanation..639176.jpeg
