I just woke up. It was quite the experience. And quickflash, I was with my friends. We were just chillen; and if you've ever tripped you would understand that it it feels really good to just sit by yourself for awhile and reflect.

Yah it was a pretty good trip, it was the frist time I ever really just sat back and kinda let myself reflect on everything. It was a pretty positive experience, I didn't get sick, and I only got scared one time because I watched the moon fall out of the sky into the woods.

I hear you west and totally agree. Tripping on shrooms can go so many ways depending on your surroundings. Once 2 friends and I ate some and walked around in Downtown Salem, OR in Spring time during the blooming of all the trees and flowers. It was one of the most unforgetable experiences of my life. We followed a creek while looking at all the colors of the cherry blossoms and rose bushes, stopped periodically to chat and witness a scene that looked like a water painting. THen we went back and did what you did, we sat in my apartment, with a ray of sunshine streaming in while my friend played stariway to heaven over and over on his guitar. it was awsome.

They arent the worst substance for you but they definetely not healthy either. THey are a toxin to your body, hence the trip. They don't affect your brain at all unless taken consistently over long periods, but they can be dangerous to your liver. There are extremely poisonous mushrooms that resemble the safe, recreational, kinds that will give you renal failure (liver problems) within 48 hrs after digestion. Then you die. But most people know enough not to pick and eat those. Don't drink alcohol with mushrooms, or take tylenol or anything else with acetomenophin as that puts extra strain on your liver, it iwll be working overtime to syphon out the toxins as is. But bottom line: taken on occaision at the recreational dose (ie an 1/8 or 3.5 grams or so or mushroom plant) wont do your liver any harm, that isnt enough poison to make your liver work any harder than it would if you had a few beers. just dont combine the beers and mushrooms

If your not drinking the liver strain an estimated '1g. Mushrooms = 4 Beers'. So last night I ingested 3.1 grams of mushrooms; so the equivalent of around 12 beers. It is by no means completely safe or healthy, but if taken 1-2 times over the course of a couple months it isn't that bad. Everything in moderation my friends....everything in moderation.

Well most people buy them from a trusted dealer or someone who knows where to pick them and is familiar with the right species. If you look they can be found all over. My friends use to pick them from around our campus at college. A favorite place is horse and cow manure or wood chips and mulch, the base of trees after a nice rain. The different species grow in a variety of locations and climates. Just don't go picking them without extensive knowledge of what species you are picking and how much to eat. It could be easy for someone picking them for the first time to pick a 'death cap' which leads to problems.

^Well, most of the time you buy them, just like most drugs. But if you know how to ID them, you can try to find them growing in fresh cow manure. Since you might not have any cattle around, and there's a chance you could pick the wrong kind of shroom, I would just buy them, but they're expensive.

Yes, never ever under any circumstance pick your own mushrooms unless your absolutly sure of what you doing. There are hundreds of varieties of mushrooms that look alike, some are good, and other can kill youy within hours. To be honest with you I never have and never will buy mushrooms from a dealer that has a source taht is unknown to me. A very good friend of mine is a botany student at the university near my house and I know I can trust him to find the right species.

Uh yeah what they said. Or you can grow your own with a spore kit (get them mail order). Its pretty easy to grow them but theres a slight risk that they can get moldy which could mean a lot of vomiting and sickness for you.
