ohhh those r atomic bindings? i thought they were marker. thats wta i based my decision on. ive heard really good things about the stls as well

because im assuming hes riding park since theyre both park skis, i thought the bindings were marker which i know sucks, and ive heard good stuff about the stl's.

there, 3 reasons bitch

yeah, mostly park, lots of rails... sorta flexy, im 5 11, 145 lbs, want them to last me all season, next season as rock skis.

yeah, but you get 3 atomics. and i usually only really damage one, the othere one is not bad... thats whyim not to sure. 4frnts are dope tho... tough choice.

thanks, i was sortal leaning towards the triplets because of the facts you get 3, reinforced edges, rivets, light, etc... its a close contest

yeah when i lifted them they we not bad at all, except they have a plate, but i wouldent really call it a plate, its just like floppy and it holds the toe piece to the heel piece for display.. i guess its a plate, but really light.

i wanna rotate the usage so they dont wear out as fast, and its a pain switching them over all the time.

all skis should have the line thing where you can switch them easily.

first. im a definate fan of atomic skis. they make awesome products. the triplets are cool. however, i would not chose that setup over the 4frnts.

for one, the 4frnts are also a very light ski, and have a medium flex vs the stiffer atomics.

dont let the fact that these are marketed as a park ski trick you into thinking these cant ski. these skis have no problem laying down high speed carves. they are very impressive for a park ski as far as actual skiability.

i dont think any ski out there can touch the stl in regards to being an all around great ski. it does everything very well, and its a very lively feeling ski. they are just real fun to ride.

on the other hand, the atomics are prolly gonna be more durable, and they are are also a great ski. however, if you do buy them, put a different binding on two of the skis, and partner up with a friend to sell the extra ski as a pair. that would save a large amount of money, and would make that a better buy.

The neox isn't a "bad" binding for park, its just a little overkill in that you don't really need a full flex binding for jibbing.

One thing thats cool about it though is that with the independently moving heel and toe pieces your DIN is always maintined throughout a turn. With a 2 piece your DIN actually varries throughout a turn.

Also, the neox DIN is callibrated before the scale is laser printed. Its just another feature that assures you're always getting the proper DIN.

I ask myself the question, the team ride Look race stocks if im not mistaken.

1- the neox is heavy

2- more compenents and crap = more stuff to break, espically if it's plastic.

3- full flex bindings and good for crusing on groomers, not landing of jumps and rails.

4- Laser printed giving me a number on a screen? ummmm ya, i can look down on my scale on my looks and be assured and always getting the proper din it says i am.

5 - I bet you in the near future Atomic will have a better binding focused towards more aggressive park and freeriding. Because the Neox is by no means a good freeride binding compared to what is out there.

6 - The triplets are a sick idea, and a sick concept. Now that they skis are getting pressed with the snowboards, and rex is at the helm, and given more freedom, i can only expect bigger and better things to come. That said, i would ride triplets any day, wouldn't be caught dead with neox bindings on them tho, which sucks cause you can;t buy any other in a group of 3.

Just my thoughts anyway

If I were you, I would get the Triplets and mount them with some p10's. Done! Atomic bindings just plain suck. Triplets are stiffer though but they'll probably last longer.

Ok, what im talking about with the laser printed DIN scale....basicly every other company makes their binding, prints the din scale and everything, then calibrates it. So there can be and often is a discrepancy between what the scales says and what it actually is.

If you've ever worked in a shop and tested bindings you know that they are rarely acurate to what the DIN says.

Atomic actually prints the DIN to match where the binding is calibrated. You're thinking of the EBM binding with the computer chip. I don't think this kids thinking bout putting the $1000 model on his trips

Otherwise, yes...its been established that the neox is heavier than a 2 piece. Where that sucks is in carrying them around and stuff. Having the weight underfoot dosent affect swing weight for spinning and actually makes them ski better in my opinion.

The reason the neox is heavier is because it is practically all metal. its not junky and dosen't break as much as alot of other companies Ive seen.

Your right that the neox is not the best freeride binding, but its still a good binding and I definatly wouldn't not get the trips on account of it.

Next year will be a different binding setup for freeride though and Rex is definatly making it happen! Atomic Freeskiing is gonna blow up!

just realise that it's this guys job to make atomic bindings sound like they don't suck. Atomic has realised their bindings suck for freeride and next year the triplets are supposed to be packaged with some looks.

get the triplets.

if you don't want the atomic bindings buy 2 pairs of looks on e-bay and leave one incase if you break your binding (dunno if it actually happens)

They are both good skis. The edge reinforcement on the Triplets is a good idea and they ski nicely, but the STL has good reviews too. For bindings, the one good thing about the Neox is you could change your boot's position on the ski without needing to redrill, but I wouldn't trust it to hold up to heavy park landings - the pieces that hold everything in place are plastic.

basically both skis are sick as hell...personally i like the stl's more because i've ridden them...

stl: super hella light ski and amazing pop and relatively low swing weight...BUT, because its a sandwaich construction ski (which most twin companies have moved to now), the topsheets chip very easily...w/e though, no biggie...another thing is that the edges on 4frnt skis blow chunks...if you want them lasting a whole season of rail abuse i would not rely on them...don't know much about the 4frnt bindings at all other than their made by viste or w/e and they're a very reliable company.

triplets: the big hype behind these skis is their inset edges...to me, they are pointless cuz 90% of the freestyle population doesn't exactly jib flat-ski'd therefore the inset edges (which are supposed to make you slide faster and smoother) will do NOTHING...the graphics are ugly (WHO CARES)...but you get 3 which is sweet!...i've heard they ride very well and respond amazingly...all i know about atomic bindings is that i've seen 3 pairs of the high end bindings just blow up on my buddies after jumping 50 foot tables doing straight airs, so, naturally i say fuck those bitches...

to end this shit off...the ski decision really comes down to whether you want more technology or simplicity...stl=simplicity...triplet=technology...binding wise, i would straight up go with a pair of high end salomons like the s912Ti or s914Ti depending on weight or a pair of look px12Ti's or px14ti's again depending on weight...

because you're using the skis for mainly jibbing, neither are going to hold up very well all season...rock skis next season, fuck yeah! haha...if you're only buying for jibbing id say look for an older pair of the stl's or a pair of skis alike them...

I think the bottom line is, are you going to blow out your skis this year, and if not, go with the STLs.

On the other hand, if you get new skis next season, then you have 3 Urban skis, and that is just styling.

i wouldn't get either... i just wouldn't trust either binding, to be honest i don't know much about the 4frnt bindings except that they're new and until other people have tried and tested them i'd leave them alone. i've never liked atomic bindings and i certainly wouldn't pair those skis with that binding.

if i had to though i'd go 4frnt, only because i've never liked atomic skis, the triplet is a cool idea but it's seems like a great way to make a lot more money and not very essential. the 4frnt are more my kind of ski and their bindings are probably better than atomics!
