Triples..

i really hope that this is not the direction the sport of freestyle sking is going. all though they are difficult, i think they just look silly.

please post your opinion

sammys triple was cooler than anything ive seen you do. do something cooler and maybe ill agree with you.

not this shit again
"oh no, double will be aerials!!!!!!"
ya, thats a fucking comp standard right now..

Same thread exists for every trick from 1080 to Triple flip. Spinning a 10 on you last hit in 2005 was a "Spin-to-win" run. Haven't been around long have you?

I think its pretty obvious that progression is the direction the sport is taking.... and that requires doing more difficult things...... also, searchbar

dude just everyone shut the fuck up with these gay ass threads....thats all i see now is fucking triple hate threads...keep it to your god dam self and suck a dick. sammy's triple was the most pimp shit i have ever seen in my life..not hucked, grabbed alllllll the way around, and stomped the fuck out of it...get the fuck over it that these pros are better that you.. for real. accept the fact that triples are the new doubles and go die

Man the idiocy of the hype here on NS truly blows my mind. All of a sudden someone pulls a steezy trip on a HUGE unrealistic (for comp) custom jump in the back country and every idiot here gets his own opinion and starts throwing out these gay comments. The trip is the new dub? come on bro! why do we always define and measure our success by what some air-head and his money can do? i know you've probs never stomped a steeze dub let alone a trip and i know you won't because unless you have a ton of money they're ain't no way your getting out west and building a jump big enough for it. so please quit contributing to the problem and go ski. i know i will be.

ofcourse sammys was super cool, but i dont like when they start throwing ''jibbin tricks'' unless they do it from 200 feet kicker ...

I don't think trips will be in comps for a while. The jumps aren't big enough to do it comfortably

I posted this back after Bobby's triple and I think it still applies:
What I never can understand is how in all of these arguments, people totally disregard why we ski. If you've done a million flat 5s, would it heighten your skiing experience doing a double? Hell yeah. So now, if you've done a ton of doubles, how do you elevate that experience? Can you imagine what Bobby felt like in the in-run to doing a triple and the sensation he skied away with after stomping it? That's something anyone who says "this isn't leading freestyle skiing in the right direction" just isn't going to experience. You can work on style and perfecting grabs day in day out, but that isn't going to deliver nearly the same level of satisfaction as doing something terrifying and pulling it off. I give Bobby all the props in the world, and I happened to see him just after he pulled off the triple, and the beaming expression on his face was all the evidence I needed to indicate that he was doing something right.
As Shane McConkey once said, "I'll take balls over style any day." The thing is, if you can combine balls and style (as Bobby and Sammy did), all the more props to you.

If you want to see the sport go in a different direction then take action and start making edits of different things. If all you're gonna do is sit around and bitch then fuck off.

Sammy's triple was sick as fuck. It's really progressing skiing, however, i would rather see a really sick, stylish 9 or something.

your a bandwagon triple hater loser.
if you would rather see a stylish 9 then that triple, well....

the sport is big enough now where progression in style, creativity and tech tricks can all exist. but what our sport would be great without is all you fucking retards who think that progression is bad for our sport and will lead to the entire ski industry becoming one thing that they don't like. how about instead of hating or worrying about what trick someone does, you go out and ski and enjoy what you like to do. fucking pathetic sheep.

wat.

People need to show more respect for the guys putting their body on the line to land these kind of stomach turning tricks. Also if you're worried about comps involving triples I don't know what you're doing on a newschool ski forum.
