Triple Corks

I dont ever make threads, in fact i barely post anything. I just read whatever u guys have to say. Now i have decided enough is enough, i have to say something. Triple corks are going to be the future except it, stop saying "idk if im going to like this" or "idk if this is where our sport should go" or " our sport is becoming aerials", because all of these statements just seem ignorant. This is where the sports is headed and you have to deal with it. Im sure this coming winter all the haters will be blowing there loads when they see how sick these triples are going to look. I mean come on, just look at what everyone thought about doubles "they can't be with steeze or done with style", but look at doubles now, style? I think so. So all i have to say is except triples there going to happen, stop bitching and believe me the pros will find away to make them stylish.

I agree with some of the things you're saying. But i dont think that you can just say that "this is where it's headed, deal with it". I hope that our sport can head in many different directions at the same time, and have room to be different and think different. If you disagree with the whole double (now triple) onslaught, do something about it. Make an edit with only straight airs 1's and 3's, and show that skiing isn't only about doubles, stylish or not. Show what skiing is to you!. I enjoy watching doubles and all, but i also enjoy watching original edits with people skiing in many different ways. I try to get stoked on how versatile skiing really is, and from that i try to create my own style, according to my ability and opportunity to ski. I try not to hate on anything, but the real reason i dont hate, is because i dont have any hate towards any type of skiing. Racing, freeride, freestyle, tele whatever, i see the value in it, and if people are stoked on doing it, im stoked too!
Wow this sounds really corny, but i guess that's how i feel! Bring on the triples, but hopefully some tight jean hippie killer nose block steeze as well!

^ i agree with you complete you. Im not trying to say that skiing should go in one single direction cause thats not what skiing is about at all, its about creativity and triples are just part of that and we should except them like we should except anything else. I also feel that change in one part of the sport often leads to change in other aspects. All im saying stop criticizing until we actually see the final result.

triples will happen, however other crazy shit will happen too stylewise and on urban and other shit so for those who are bitching, stop it because the sport is going to be fine.

I do not believe that in anyway will triples dominate our sport. The reason being that it simply denies the laws a physics to be able to to three corked spins on a 90 foot jump. With all the current problems of not being able to run events due to wind and what not, there is no way jumps of the magnitude to do triples can ever be built. I think people will do triples, but not in competition, maybe X Games, only on parkshoot jumps etc. I also think everyone needs to settle down on this triple rage, because the jumps arent big enough and it won't happen, plus i much prefer watching mike hornbeck to some steezy ass nollie than a person huck a double.

i somewhat agree with you. Triples and massive jumps will cuase problems. Weather is a major factor now with only dubs. You see so many comps getting reduced to one jump and a few rails because of weather. But you are wrong saying that triples wont happen, because they will, In park shoots and maybe Xgames.

A few things i would like to point out here1. You said that X-games was not a competition (yes it is)2. People will be able to do them in competitions 3. You can make a jump bigger... that has been proved over the years. All you have to do is take out the table and add it to the take off and landing
What I am saying is that you are completely wrong... sorry

i can't wait to see triples. however, i would love to see judging based more on style. i would so much rather see someone win with super steezed out single corks, and style tricks than somebody chucking crazy dubs and triples that are a little skech or the guy doesnt ride away 100% clean.

i believe this is what is going to take over.

lol jk. i can't wait to see triples. i hope msp puts at least part of bb's trip in thier trailer so i can see it.

IGNANT being the operative word.word.

Fuck trips... I can say right now that it will look ugly and Bobby Brown has not done it. If i has done something that looks similar it would be a trip wobble.. If the spin is right a dub wobble can look nice, but a true trip cork will look shitty! Quote me on this in 2-5 years!

well of course its possible.... you just wont see your home mountain doing it ever for safety, liability reasons. this makes it harder for local kids trying triples which means you wont see quite as many people doing them as he is trying to say, which i agree with.

this is stupid1. no, he didnt. he said that they would maybe happen in x-games, or park shoots2. i can only see them happening in big air comps3. no shit you can make a jump bigger, the problem is that weather is too inconsistent in comps to make that practical (at least in a slopestyle comp)

do you actually have any idea how much air you need to do tripples?

the Aerials guys go like 50 feet straight up..

all this shit is just history repeating it self..

ie. this video tripple twisting quad of a jump

the only difference is the rotation and the fact that he isnt grabbing..

this video has been posted many times before I dont really care.

Tripples arent my thing.. but saying that I tihnk some dubs are amazing.

and yes i think tripples are a natural progression..

but there is nothing new about them.. people have been doing them for years..

this is just history repeating it self...but this time its of axis and with a touch of the ski..

still sick.. but there are limits .. the amount of snow needed to build a jump to do tripples is outrageous.. you preety much need an aerial site. or a fukin 100 foot + step over..

the amount of money that costs means that it wont happen to often. people will land tripples in the next year. maybe even they already have..

but its very hard to make a tripple look good unless your going soo big thta igf you fall your just gona disintergrate.

but i guess if any one can do it its bobby brown.. I still dont think it will become a common thing though.

Triples will be like aerials, until they become done with style, same thing with doubles. It is the sport progressing. With out progression we would all the riding 191 K2s.

That is a pretty amazing trick but its still so different from what people do now. Turpins triple flat attempt looked way different than any aerial stunt, he was on a completely different axis. Aerialists rarely if ever flip forward from what I have noticed. On an aerial jump I imagine it being easier to do a single back flip than just straight airing the thing. In big air you see forward flipping rotations, like bobby browns switch dub misties. Calling this repeated history is a misnomer.

welcome. i did understand the comment, not 192 straight, rock stiff k2 race skis labeled as something else. i was just in a smartass mood, i guess.

its funny, people were saying the EXACT same thing about dubs when the first started. and before that switch tens. Change must scare people. Or maybe people just don't like that their dreams of going pro have just been pushed further away
