Which should I take?

Me and a friend are takin a trip to bc next year and either goin to whistler or fernie. Were both gonna be 18 and don't have a whole lot of money. Were not experts but we are good enough. What is Fernie's park like and what is just an all round better deal to go to for one week?

Fernie would be a whole lot cheeper. I havn't skied fernie for a few years but it hasn't changed much sinse I was there. Fernie is a sweet resort as far as skiing goes. the nightlife isn't even close to what you would find in whistler. If money is an issue I would go to fernie. Thats why I havn't skied whistler yet. $$$$

i have the exact same situation, i live in ontario too, and well my friend and i were planing on going to whistler this year, but money is the issue, we will both have enouhg with our jobs but is it worth it, i mean we will only be 17, so no nightlife, and i don't really care to ski the park, i just wanna hit up powder and all the mountain has to offer, so like which is better?

don't do sleep and get 8 hours of drugs

fernie has great powder. again I can't speak for whistler, but the best snow I have ever skied on was in fernie.

im also kinda in the same situation. for christmas i cant decide between whistler and fernie. my couz are going to be in fernie and so they'll manage to get me drunk. but id still rather go to whistler, to avoid a 8 h drive and my pass is already paid for. ive heard great things about fernie, and my couz had a great nightlife

the skiing at fernie is definatly world class, but as for the park I imagine they are gonna change it this year but last year they had a couple rails and three bigish table tops (55, 50sumthing, and 63ft if my memory works)

Fernie deffinatly is a sick sick place. if you have limited cash deffinatly go there, whistler is also rad, but sooo expensive

Yea, fernie if you are strapped for cash, but the park doesnt compare the whistlers. But fernie has sick skiing and lots of amazing bowls. Whistlers night life is super dope though, best in the world, but expensive.

i dont think the tables were quite that big (maybe from the base of the jump though cause the takeoff seemed to go forever, but i hate the box rails!

(trust me, the '' things aren't actually there)

i would go to whis, i wouldnt reccomend fernie end of season either mid season it would be okay but i would take whistler

If your not really into park and only are looking for powder, maybe try Kicking Horse. Better than Fernie if you ask me. There is so much hiking potential there its not even funny. The best thing about it is that you can hike either way off the actual resort boundaries and unless you hike really far out, the near bowls will funnel right back into the actual runs. So basically you hike for 15 mins or not even to get about 2000 vert of fresh snow. Bring avi gear though.

well how is their park, is it pretty good. Are all their tables really huge, or do they have some smaller ones there, and how many rails did they have and what kind were they. Also whats their halfpipe like?

Kicking horse at this point doesnt have a park. You can make your own though. Lots of good jump building places, and there is some tree slides as far as rails.
