what would you rather have...(if both isnt an option)
someone with
a. a big bag of tricks but have little to no style
or
b. a smaller bag of tricks but everything done with steeze
smaller with style. When you see those aerials twats at the olympics, basically doing ballet on skis, it looks shit. And that's what non-skiers thinks freeskiing is. A steezt cork 9 looks infinitely better than a pencil 16.
I'll say style. But the problem with that is progression would be so much slower because everyone would stick with throwing steezed 180s and not move onto bigger things because they don't wanna look penciled out. You have to look hucked before you can make it steezed out.
Big bag of tricks. To the average weekend warrior, a hucked 9 looks way more impressive than a stylie 5. And he who dies with the most cheers from the chairlift wins.
Personally, I think style is important, but almost everyone can steez out a 180. The key is having tricks and style, but creativity and not being afraid to do something new is the coolest.
hard to say but i would rather see a steezy cab seven or cork 5 than a super sketchy dub flip. but the problem is that style doesnt really get you that far, its all about hucking yo self
style fo sho! i would like to see skiing go in the direction of looking like how the technine snowboard crew rides. its cool to see big mobbed out 1's and 3's than watching 1080's over and over. just my opinion though.
Maybe have a big bag of tricks but then begin working on style. Get all the tricks down and then work on style? I would choose style though if that first idea isn't an option.
I wanna see some kid that nobody's ever seen just start hucking the biggest gnarliest shit ever, crash then burn, then get up and try again like a champ.
